Have made eight dives since purchasing and all were with local guides so I have only used it to stay oriented rather than having to follow a bearing, but was totally satisfied with it. One of the reasons I chose this compass was the ability to mount it on the SPG hose rather than have it competing for wrist space with my computer. Well worth the price.

Many divers take compasses for granted, considering them just an accessory to their overall gear set up. Tryin to navigate with a poorly designed or improperly functioning compass can be one of diving's more frustrating events. The Cressi Compass with strap and hose mount is an oil filled compass, robust and accurate for underwater navigation that ensures accuracy and durability for a long time. The Cressi Compass is a dual-purpose compass. The convenient side window allows quick reference of large, easy-to-read bearing indicators on a luminescent display for gun-sight accuracy. Or, for divers who prefer relative navigation, the ratchet bezel can be rotated easily even with thick neoprene gloves. The luminous dial of the compass is designed with a half black / half luminous graphic to make quick work of compass direction, especially in dim light.
The compass bezel has compass headings in 30-degree numbered increments and indicator marks for every 10-degrees. Bezel has twin heading indicators for alignment of compass course and a lubber line across the compass face. Compass case is manufactured from a scratch resistance polycarbonatefor strength and durability. A wide anatomical band allows the compass to be attached to the wrist. Compass measures 2.36" (6cm) in diameter, is 1.14" (2.9cm) high and weighs 3.25 oz (92g). Also, included with the compass is a hose mount.
This product can only be shipped to U.S. addresses.

No logo on mine at all. It says "Made in Taiwan" on the back of the housing. I really like mine.
Christian E
There is no Cressi logo. And doesn't have the Cressi name anywhere.

Is this compass suited for northern, southern, or both hemispheres?
Thomas N
Both
THERESA R
No idea. Only used in Caribbean. Happy diving.
JOE C
I always thought north was north no matter what hemisphere you are in. The only differences in the southern hemisphere are the seasons because of the tilt of the earth and the way they measure latitude as in southern latitude. Since I haven't been to the southern hemisphere with a compass I can't say 100%, but I have never heard of a yacht sailing to the southern hemisphere requiring a different compass than what they already had.

Should be for both, North and South. The only difference will be in the accuracy while turning or accelerating.

Is the band big enough to fit around wrist with 7mm wetsuit?
JUAN G
In my opinion it is. I used it with a 1mm and the strap came all the way around and covered the face of the compass.
ADRIAN M
Yes, the strap is big.
JOE C
Sorry, I don't know, I don't wear a wetsuit
John G
There is a great deal of excess band...fits over my 7mm wetsuit with plenty to spare.

what is the hose mount for?
THERESA R
So you can mount it to your gage hose. We have mounted it directly under the gauges, since your looking at them often anyway. However, it is difficult to use in this way because our hose is relatively short. We are in our late forties, and early fifties and need more distance to focus on the compass face (we need reading glasses). Next time we dive we are going to use it on our wrist and see how we like it this way. We already have the dive computer on our wrist, and we were concerned it would be uncomfortable. The compass is easy to use and we found it helpful on our last dive. It is big and clunky, but if it was smaller we wouldn't be able to see the numbers. We would buy this again.
John S
It allows a diver the ability to attach the compass to their "gauge" hose instead of wearing the compass on their wrist.
HECTOR X B
Tha strap is to fit your wrist as a watch, but you could be wearing a computer on your wrist then you can use the hose mount to attach the compass to one of your hoses, like your pressure gage hose.
JUAN G
The compass can be used on your wrist or mounted on the hose of you console by removing the screws, the straps and attaching the supplied hose mount.
TERRY P
Mounting to your console hose.
