BIG EYES EVOLUTION CRYSTAL

The ultimate in comfort and performance

The Big Eyes Evolution Crystal combines the best of Cressi technologies. Raked lenses, with Cressi’s inverted tear-drop shape, are positioned close to the eyes for an exceptional field of view, and the Crystal Silicone skirt delivers excellent light transmission while resisting discoloration and fogging. The Crystal Silicone skirt seals gently against the skin with a very open angle that accommodates a wide range of facial shapes.

  • The Big Eyes Evolution Crystal mask is one of the most high-end masks in the market, suitable for scuba diving and snorkeling.
  • Features inclined and inverted tear-drop lenses for improved downward visibility, a Cressi patented design (US 6272693).
  • The field of view is particularly wide, laterally and in the lower zone. The lenses are made of tempered glass.
  • The easy-to-use Buckles are integrated with the frame with a swivel system for quick adjustments.
  • Made in Crystal Silicone™, a Cressi trademark formula to prevent yellowing over time.
  • The mask is designed and made in Italy by Cressi, a brand pioneer in Scuba Diving, Snorkeling and Swimming equipment since 1946.

Easy Adjustable Buckle System

The buckles are virtually indestructible since they are not directly fixed to the frame but anchored to the rubber of the skirt, allowing it to freely swivel and pivot in all directions.

This system makes adjusting with one hand easy, avoiding the usual breaks of this delicate point, and maintains the mask’s stability once it’s on. This is Cressi technology is available in almost all Cressi diving masks.

Evolution

Clear Silicones Vs Dark Silicones

The mask is available in clear or dark silicone. You can choose what you prefer, depending on your skill level and what type of diving you do. The clear silicone allows a greater peripheral view. It also provides more light and can prevent claustrophobia, recommended for beginner divers. The dark silicone reduces glare and light, allowing a more focused view, ideal for experienced divers and photographers.

Evolution

Low Internal Volume

A low internal volume allows for effortless clearing. The mask rests on the face with unprecedented comfort and does not leave any marks on the skin, even after extended use. Naturally, to obtain such a result, the entire structure of the skirt is differentiated, with internal ribs that stiffen the parts of the mask that are most stressed.

Evolution

This revolutionary mask is made from black hypoallergenic high seal soft silicone rubber, a new material that offers extraordinary and unprecedented comfort and fit. The mask rests on the face with this unprecedented silicone rubber and does not leave any marks on the skin, even after extended use. So, if you're tired of your mask gives you ring-around the eyeballs, this mask is for you. Naturally, to obtain such a result the entire structure of the skirt is differentiated, with internal ribs that stiffen the parts of the mask that are most stressed.

Mask gives an exceptionally wide field of view. The raked dual tempered glass lenses, with their inverted teardrop shape (Cressi Patent) rest as close to the eyes as possible, so that the already extraordinary field of view is increased by 25% over the Cressi Matrix Mask. The mask strap uses the exclusive patented Cressi system of double injecting of a flexible elastomer on a rigid element which allows the buckles of the strap to mounted not on the skirt structure as done with other masks, but on the Indestructible elastic element that tilt on a vertical plane and can be completely bent sideways up to 180-degree curve. The silicone mask strap is a wide split strap for even dispersion for increased fit and comfort.

The thickness of the mask frame has been reduced to such an extent that it is practically Invisible when the mask is being worn. The mask skirt is a double feathered edge design and has an easy-to-reach one-hand nose pocket for ear equalization which can be utilized even when wearing thick gloves. To protect your mask when not in use the Big Eye comes with a hard-plastic protective mask box. Mask is available in black color.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Difference between regular big eyes mask and big eyes Evolution mask?
darrick c  Hello, the skirt on the Evolution, is better to help contour around your face better to give you a better mask seal.
Capt Manuel M  Which masks you recommend for adding prescription lenses ?
DMITRI M  Same here: my wife uses prescription lenses and she's buying them shop-installed. I'm the one using the Big Eyes. So no personal experience changing lenses in this one. It is designed for it and the lenses are available OTC so it should be good, but YMMV.
Theo K  A lot depends on your face size. Different mask have different skirts which are designed for different face types. The Cressi Big Eyes Evo fits almost all adult people and has a nice big nose pocket.
ELJORN N  I do not wear prescription lenses. I have 50 years scuba experience. I would highly recommend having a professional install the lenses. If the lenses can be replaced, I think this mask would be a good choice. I don’t know if you can get the lenses out. All the best.
Mark R  can you make special lenses-?
Mario C  i had this done many years ago, the company i used is no longer in business. Though i have no one to recommend, from google many companies show up, just dont have personal experience with them to make a recommendation. https://www.google.com/search?q=scuba+bonded+lens&rlz=1C1GGRV_enUS818US818&oq=scuba+bonded+lens&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i64l2.4679j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
Mario C  We do not offer it, but as mentioned above there many specialized companies that can bond any prescription lens to most masks like this one.
Mark R  Do you have the names of those other companies
HELENA B  I think so. Find the company you want to make your lenses and see what they are using. I like Newport Glass in California
BRAD S  What is the difference between the Cressi Big Eyes mask and the Cressi Big Eyes Evolution Mask?
z l  Mario, I loved your answer, but you could have made it even less intelligible if you used some modern day gibberish like "platform," "execution space," or "ellipsoidal contingenuity." I did like the "dynamic perfect stability," though.
Mario C  Evo skirt with two silicone of different density to obtain an especially dynamic perfect stability over the face with a great comfort and adaptation capacity.
Maria Teresa S  Which lenses would you recommend for a multifocal lens user? I use +2.5 sphere for distance vision and I also +2.5 for reading. I tried a +3.5 for vision from 0.5m -10m in the shop and felt great.
KONSTANTIN K  Do you mean you need +2.5 for distance and ADD +2.5 for near vision? Then your usable range is +2.5 ... +5.0. In clear waters you may need to view as far as 30 m and more, though objects at that distance will be blurred anyway (by water dispersion), so you may not need that far end of your range. Keep in mind that your lenses will be convex, and pretty thick, so you gonna have some optical distortions. That means (1) don't expect perfect focusing, and (2) to reduce distortions, try a thinner (weaker) lens, like +3.0 or even +2.5. I am using -5.0, so my lens is concave on the inner side (the outer side is always flat to avoid refraction change between air or water). For a concave lens, your line of sight is entering the glass surface at a more perpendicular angle across the whole field of view (hope you can understand this), so distortion is much smaller.
