Perfect!

By bjc235

I just received the product in the mail and it is exactly as pictured. On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the highest it) it is probably an 8 on attractiveness. Not that that is supposed to matter when buying a wet suit. But as a girl I did care. The front zipper is awesome too. I haven;t gone on my trip yet, so I will be back to give more info. For reference I usually wear a size 10 in wet suits so I bought a large Cressi. It is a little (tiny) bit looser than the other size 10 I have. I am 5'4...

Love it

By Trudy

I bought this for diving in the Keys. I am 5'1 and weigh 120lbs so I went with the M/3, it fits me great and is so easy to put on and take off!! Love it!

When you need a little more warmth, the 2.5mm Shorty delivers with excellent core-warming capability and an anatomical fit that's easy to swim in. Shorty suit is made from 2.5 mm, nylon 2 neoprene. Suit has a heavy-duty YKK front zipper. To add to the suit's warmth high-stretch ultra-span neoprene seals on the legs and arms decreases water exchange.
Who is it for?

The Cressi Playa Shorty is the perfect solution for swimming, snorkeling, the pool and all water sports where light protection from the cold, wind, sun or water spray is required. It's also for those who want to maintain the freedom of movement that a thin suit offers, or for layering under a thicker suit for added thermal protection. All seams are glued and sewn for added strength and durability. Suit is available in multiple sizes and is black and pink in color.

This product can only be shipped to U.S. addresses.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

SHEILA M  what is the zipper length in inches?
LAURA S  Zipper is 18 “ long. FYI- you will need help removing it when wet
GLENN G  On the M/3 size the zipper is 17" long.
Shopper  will this item in an extra small come back in stock?
KEVIN F  Extra small IS currently in stock.
JOANNA O  Hi I'm 5.7, 130 pounds. slim but athletic built. 36 chest and hips, 28 waist. What size do you recommend? I am leaning S but some respondends said it runs small? Thx Joanna
DAVID S  I bought 1 small for my friend and she is 5'6" 120, it's just about perfect fit, she loves the front zip. Hope it helps. I bought a mens version in xl and it was true to size
Emmy C  i need some hel to figure out whick size do i need?, as i'm 5'2" tall and 99 pounds as an observation i'm a thin build woman. i would be thankful for your help and advice.
Emmy C  SSo, iguess, this one is a best choice for thin people. it's great to know that cuz i'm pretty sure now, i will fit me pretty good. thank you, CarolE =)
CORINNE C  I am 5'2" 125 lbs and usually wear a size 4. My scuba wardrobe is full of wetsuits all too small and difficult to take off during the 1hr out of water interval between dives. Even the Henderson 10 was too tight. I love this Cressi shorty L4. It is probably a little large but is easy to get on and off. The shorty packs great in my carry on. I'm sure that you wouldn't need the L/4, so maybe 2 sizes smaller. Now I'm looking for a full front zip skin to add to my carrying on. Hope this helps.
Emmy C  You're absolutely right about the front zip. the convwntional WS are a little hard to suit up and off, so i'm really looking forward to try this one, although, the pink details are a plus for me to choose it. and i envy you, for all those wetsuit you have :) thanks :)
CAROLYN E  I'm 5'8 and 128 lbs, thin build. I bought the medium but would probably have preferred the small. There is extra room at the back, and the sleeves and legs, while relatively snug, could be a bit tighter. Length is good, not tight.
MIYUKI S  Without knowing your measurements I'd recommend the XS. I would however strongly recommend measuring your chest, waist, hips. These measurements I would weigh more heavily than height and weight. The shorty I'd recommend for a slim build in particular is the Pinnacle Spirit 3mm Shorty SKU: PINSP3W http://www.leisurepro.com/Prod/PINSP3W.html. I am your height but 10 lbs lighter and Pinnacle's work well for me.
Emmy C  now those are hard facts!!! thanks for the provident advice, and of course i will have in mind. it's good to have the assistance of a scuba girl around here :)
ADRIAN S  I bought size S/2 for my girlfeiend it fits her perfectly. She is 5'6" and 125 pounds. I think you should go a size smaller which is XS if available. By the way the suit looks great.
Emmy C  that's great now i know which size to choose. thank you soooo much, ADRIAN =) and yes, the suit is pretty cool (as far as i can see) ;)
Shopper  I can't go swimming because I get an infection from the water...will this suit keep me fairly dry or would I still get wet?
JERRY S  You will still get wet.
KATHY F  I bought this for my daughter, so I can't tell you firsthand. But I think it keeps you fairly dry, if you purchase one with a snug fit. Of course, your arms and legs are exposed, so maybe this isn't the best choice for you, given your condition.
MIYUKI S  You will get wet. Only a dry suit will keep you dry. You will get wet in all wetsuits - regular and semi-dry. If you are getting infections from going in the water you should check into the water quality of the places you are going as well as with a physician.
LAUREN S  Addendum: Ask yourself...is it chlorinated water or salt water that is a problem? If you can take a shower without getting an infection, it isn't the WATER...It's something in the water. Salt water has lots of little organisms in it that might be causing irritation. Good luck.
MARCIA H  This suit will not keep you dry that is why it is called a wet suit
LAUREN S  The Cressi Shorty is a WETSUIT. The principle is that it keeps you warm by allowing a thin layer of water between you and the wetsuit. Your body heat warms the water which then acts as an insulator. It is not intended to keep you dry. If there are very small irritants in the water, there's a chance they will get under the wetsuit. No guarantees. It depends on what in the water is causing your problem.
AMY B  You will get wet with any wetsuit. A wetsuit uses your body heat to warm the water between your skin and the suit. You may want to try a drysuit, although I've never heard of that used for swimming but you've gotta do what you've gotta do! Good luck!
LESLIE M  It will get wet, as it is a wetsuit, meaning that it works by trapping a thin amount of water between the suit and your skin to insulate you from cold. It is also a shorty, so you wouldn't have coverage enough. If you rash due to the sun - or sun & water - it might then be ok, sort of. Is it chlorinated water that causes your skin problems? Or any water? To really protect in the way you describe, you will need a full-body dry suit with boots & mitts.
KATIE B  wet suits don't keep you from getting wet. they are exposure protection from the cold, from animals like jelly fish, and from the sun. But you will absolutely get wet unless you wear a dry suit.
MICHAEL A  You will still get wet in a wet suit. They are designed to allow water in and retain that water as your body warms it. If you want to stay dry in the water you will need a dry suit.
ADRIAN S  You will get wet like in any other wet suit. Even semi dry suit will not keep you completely dry.
