Bare neck seal

By Kevin

I wanted to replace my own neck seal on my dry suit so I found this on L.P. My LDS wanted $150 to replace and I was able to do it myself for around $50 and got some experience. I had to trim a few rings to get a nice fit on my neck and it works perfectly.

tough seal

I had a hard time to cut to size, but the rings around were a great help (so is my friend with a steady hand). The seal fit just perfectly, the lip is just easy to glue and press on. I will buy it again.

When your neck seal wares out your suit will leak like a sieve, a dry-suit is supposed to keep you dry, not get you wet. This neck seal, which is Trim-able to accommodate your neck size, can bring new and longer life to you dry-suit. The neck seal is made from durable Latex rubber for strength and durability. Neck seal can be used as a replacement for a damaged or worn Latex seal or to switch from a neoprene seal to latex. Neck seal can be used on the following Bare Dry Suits:
Bare NEX-GEN Pro Dry Suit, and Bare Ultra Dry Suit (See SKU's: BRENGPD and BREUD)

This product can only be shipped to U.S. addresses.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Do you have medium in this neck seal?
darrick c  Hello, no size medium are delayed by manufacture till next year.
Laurence H  What is the diameter of the outside of the base of this gasket?  I have a Bare neoprene "drysuit" and none of my Kokatat neck gaskets fit. They are 1" too small.
GENE B  Made a pattern from plywood to glue the bare neck seal (L) to drysuit. 10" OS and 8" IS diameter, which leaves a 1" rim of rubber to glue down the seal. I have a 16" neck and the seal is very tight, but they loosen up with use and warm temps.
ANDREW M  Hi Laurence, I don't remember the size of it, but he can leave on 1" - 2" of the old seal on the suit and attach the new seal to that as to make up the missing inch. The key is when you think is clean, than clean it!! Good luck
Laurence H  Hi Andrew: Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately the rubber has already been trimmed so I don't have any extra to play with.
ANDREW M  Laurence, I would buy the seal I have picked, just make sure if it's not right size it's returnable I have a feeling it just may will fit or try to find a garbage, ripped seal (maybe at your local shop) and cut a piece out of that, or DUI's zip seal is may be a better choice in your case. Andrew
chris j  I have a small Gill dry suit that needs a new neck seal. The fabric opening is 13" diameter. I have a 14" neck. What size do you recommend I get?
Billie M  Sorry I've replaced a number of neck gaskets since I used a bare neck seal and I don't remember what suit I used it on. The latex seals I've been using recently come in four different sizes. Small, medium, large and extra large. I'd recommend a large in those latex neck seals for a 14" neck.
ROSS W  Do you know if this will fit the Bare 2007 Nex-Gen Dry Suit Mens model? It's not obvious from the picture if they changed the neck seal design between the 2007 model which I have and the 2010 model which appears to be the current one.
HARRISON B  I can't answer for your specific model, but I've used this seal on a Viking, a very old DUI bilaminate, and an OS suit. It worked on all of them and I would assume it will work on yours. Good luck.
KENT R  I replaced the neck seal on my Bare Trilam HD Tech, and have been very satisfied. The new seal has lasted 2 years and well over a hundred dives. I think the suit is a 2006 model. If you know what you are doing, replacing the neck seal is fairly simple. I also think that it is the same seal that will fit on the Nex Gen Drysuit. My friend has the Nex Gen and the seals look identical. Replacing a neck seal without the knowledge or correct tools and products to do it right can be a cluster... I hope this helps!
MICHAEL C  I put this seal on my older viking suit and a diving concepts suit. one was a rubber suit so the install was easy but the diving concepts had a fabric type material making it harder but I was still successful. I 'm not familiar with BARE brand suits. I highly recommend Mcnett Aquaseal sealant.
LANCE R  I actually used it to replace a neck seal in a 2000 DUI drysuit. It worked perfectly. They do allow for slight variations in suits. Good Luck, Lance
DAVID W  My bare wetsuit is from around 2007 and this fit just fine. I had no trouble with any of the seals.
PHILLIP H  Neck seal is universal. You will have to take time to prep the drysiut neck ring prior to install. Use recommended glue and clamp as recomended.
Shopper  How do I know whether I should get a small or large?
LeisurePro S  Choose a small seal for suit sizes XS or S (or a neck circumference below 14") and a large for M and above (or neck sizes over 14").
