Being a safe diver is important as more and more people are taking to the water every year, and there is increased watercraft traffic in our favorite dive sites. Make sure to fly this flag when diving to alert watercraft operators that there are divers below. This 4' (1.22m) Standard Flag Float has a lead weighted bottom to avoid inverting while in use. The lead weight is equipped with an eyelet at the base for line attachment and rubber stoppers on the pole to eliminate flag slippage. Float is made of Styrofoam for extreme positive buoyancy, yet lightweight for ease of transport. The 4' (1.2m) pole allows flag to be highly visible from long distances for increased safety. It is sold separately. It is displayed without a flag and listed as a float, comes as pictured. I ran the shaft through a flag's grommets and zip ties on both ends to reduce slipping. Word of caution, you can pull this float under water if you are not letting line out. It is neat to see the foam float compressed and then push it upwards and watch it expand and race to the surface. I used tool handle rubber dip to coat the lead weight on the bottom to reduce direct contact with lead while carrying it and marks from the lead on surfaces.

The shaft is one piece, 1.2m/3.9ft long. I cut it down to fit in a long duffel.

No, it does not disassemble. We cut it and installed a sleeved threaded connector so we can take it apart for transport.
