Great wetsuit

By snupa

This is a great suit. I'm 6'4 190lbs and got a Large Tall that fits me really well. Used it a couple of times in colder waters and worked out great. However, I would not recommend this for longer periods when diving below 70F.

Great for plus size ladies.

I'm reviewing this before I've worn it in the water so this is just to help with sizing. I wear a size 14 clothing. I'm between the W1 and W2 sizes. My bust and hips fit W2 but waist W1. I went with the smaller size because I couldnt find a reaaonably prices W2 and after reading reviews saying it was very stretchy. I'm glad I did. It's snug the way it should be without any gapping. I have large arms so I worried about that but the sleeves fit just fine. My bust is larger than the size chart b...

Divers seeking a great value will appreciate Thermoprene's balance of performance and price. The material combination delivers greater flexibility and improved features not found in standard neoprene wetsuits, yet at a reasonable cost, perfect for the cost-conscious buyer. Thermoprene is crafted from a high-quality neoprene and a low pill fabric. It has 75% more stretch than standard neoprene, so while it is not as flexible as Henderson's Thermoprene Pro or TherMAXX lines of products, it still boasts significant comfort characteristics. The 180% stretch Thermoprene is noticeably easy to don, pulling over the shoulders and around the torso with less huff and puff than standard wetsuits. Also, the fabric's exterior stands up extremely well to the wear of BC straps and weight belts with its pill/abrasion-resistant exterior laminate.

This 7mm suit is made with uncompromising quality. The suits have seams that are glued and sewn, which seals off stitched areas and drastically reduces water entry. In the full-length jumpsuits, there is a self-sealing spine pad over the zipper to further limit water exchange and to help ease the discomfort of dive tanks. Down below, Freedom Flex kneepads provide a super-tough exterior with great mobility. Each Henderson wetsuit benefits from five decades of design experience. The Thermoprene cut allows for an optimal fit while visually enhancing the diver's physique. Creature comforts include Spandex trimmed cuffs, a spine pad and an adjustable collar. Suit has a #10-YKK back zipper with zipper tab leash for easy donning and doffing. Suit is black in color and available in multiple sizes.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

J W  I am 4’7” and 110lbs with curves. My bust, waist, hip measurements are 32-25-35. Would this or any other 7mm wetsuit possibly fit me? I cannot have a suit less than 7mm
Kenneth G  In my humble opinion, women are the most difficult to fit for a wetsuit. That said, based on your height and measurements, I would recommend a custom made wetsuit. If that is out of your range, I would recommend finding one that fits your body(arms and legs excluded) then send it to a shop to have it tailored. The later may be your best option and cheaper.
Shopper  Do you think size 4 Hendersn fits me? I'm 5'4" / 104 lbs. and fit in size 4 of the Hendersen size chart except for hips (my hips are bigger by 1 inch than the size of the chart). I fit size 4 for Bare, and 4 or 6 Aqualung. My legs won't go through the legs of a Pinnacle Medium (4 to 8).
KEVIN F  Quite possibly. I would look at the other measurements as well. If you order a 4 and it doesn't fit, we have a very liberal return/exchange policy. http://www.leisurepro.com/i/pff http://www.leisurepro.com/i/ReturnPolicy
Shopper  I am 5'10'135 lbs not curvy, is this a good suit for me and what size?
DANIELL V  If you are not curvy you might look at the men's suits. I used to be curvy, and this suit fit me well. I gained weight and I'm not curvy anymore. I tried larger sizes (even the women's plus) and nothing fit well. I now wear a men's suit quite comfortably.
WILLIAM J S  Can't say about size and fit for you. I've bought two thermal preen suits one for my son who is tall adult one for myself and one for my wife. They are well-made and a good value. You can always order a size that you think fits best based on the sizing chart and send it back if it's not correct for you. Enter an answer to this question.
neyda g  What temperatures have you used this in?
SHARON C  I dive regularly in Southern California (Catalina Island and Channel Islands). I am comfortable in this wetsuit in temps as low as 60 degrees. Any lower than that and I add a vest underneath. I hope this helps!
neyda g  That is really helpful, thanks! Can I ask what vest you use underneath for the colder dives?
SHARON C  It is the Henderson 5/3 hooded vest. I don't feel comfortable in most hoods, but this one I can wear comfortably. I prefer this one to the aqualock version as that one felt too constricting. Here is the link. http://www.leisurepro.com/p-hndtwhv3/henderson-thermoprene-womens-5-3-mm-hooded-vest
neyda g  Awesome, thanks!
NIKKI S  I'm typically hot blooded - so I've been fine using this in mid-low 50 degree water - could probably do upper 40's for a short time.
MARTHA R  I took this to the Galápagos to deal with the the crazy variation in temps we were to experience during our boat trip -seriously a huge variation in temps depending on the currents so it was hard to plan. Unfortunately, I only used it ONCE on the check out dive because it made me Insanely buoyant. I would need ankle weights, lots of them to compensate. The upside is that it actually fit me. I love you guys for stocking suits that fit a super curvy woman! I ended up layering a 1mil body suit and a thicker shortie. I skipped the coldest dives.
SUZETTE R  Temps. in the low 60's
Angela S  Currently still using a size 10 Henderson 7mm about 8yrs old not sure if I should opt for size 10 or 12, weight 135lbs height 5.5.? Mainly 'warm' water use. Use hooded vest under and when needed shortie over.
NIKKI S  I would guess you are still good w/ that size 10 - I was pleasantly surprised how more true to size these were - -I was worried they ran small - but not at all. My only concern is your height - - I'm only 5'2 & mine fit perfectly - so if the 12 size has more length -you might want to consider the 12??? Hope this helps?
Angela S  This will be my third Henderson and no problem on length, wouldn't need it longer in the body.
JERI M  Leisure pro will let you try it on in your living room and exchange it needed.
Angela S  international not so simple!
