Heavily used and love it

By JOSHUA S.

In scuba you never use a knife, so until spearfishing I wondered about locking mechanisms, etc on many of my "backup safety" knives. Many spear fisherman strap their knives to the calf which adds a lot of forces on the sheath and locking mechanisms. The unlocking system is fast and effortless. I pull it out and put it in the sheath without looking, and have never lost it. The "click" lock lets me know it won't go missing. I have pulled the knife out and put fish to "sleep" hundreds of times. ...

Great little knife

By yrag

Thought I'd point out that the mounting screws are 3-3/16" apart and so mounts perfectly to my Sequest Black Diamond BC using the holes on the BC made for this purpose.

The Aqualung Wenoka series of knives offers divers the perfect knife accessory. The time proven and sought after patented Squeeze Lock design allows the user to securely lock the knife in its sheath and allows for easy release with a squeeze of the handle. The knife offers a variety of color and mounting options, and can easily be mounted to the left pocket of most Aqualung BC's. Knife has a 3" 3" (7.6cm) blade, with an overall length of 6.5" (16.5cm). Blade is made from high grade beta alloy titanium. Patented locking mechanism securely locks knife in sheath, but releases easily with a squeeze of the handle (Patent #5,926,959). Variable mounting options of stainless steel "barnacle nuts" & bolts are included for mounting through fabric or for installation on buoyancy compensators with knife grommets. Hose mounting straps are included for mounting to the BC inflator hose. Locking belt clip is integrated into sheath for attaching knife to webbing. Sheath has molded strap slots for use with optional rubber leg straps.

This product can only be shipped to U.S. addresses.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

LORRAINE L  specs say this is tanto tip. Choices include stiletto, which is what I want. (not tanto). if I choose stiletto tip, will I get that tip? (not tanto)
LEWIS H  Yes very good knife
RIAZUDEEN M  Yes ... u will get that tip in the pic. I bought my knife in 2014 ... it is still going strong
Shopper  How do you get this knife real sharp?
YAN G  Sharpen it just like any other knife, using a high quality sharpening stone.
Tegui B  I am a spearfisherman. Is this knife a line cutter?
ADRIANO R  This knife cuts very well but I think it's too small for Fishing I would like to see another inch on those knives
DAVID D  Not really, but the serrated edge would do the trick.
JEFF K  This knife does not have a specific "line cutter" notch on it, but it is adequately sharp enough to cut through a variety of lines - either with the smooth edge or the serrated edge.
Tegui B  Jeff, many thanks for your guidance. Regards, Tegui
JEFF K  You are very, very welcome. I've been very happy with this knife. Not that I use it all the time, but it has remained very sharp over the years. AND, being titanium, it doesn't rust like some "stainless steel" knives. I hope you'll be happy with this selection. Safe Diving!!!
HENRIK S  Unless you mean powerline - yes. It does not have scissor action like some knives I've seen, but it's cut through anything I've used it for.
NIGEL L  The simple answer is, Yes, you can cut line with this knife. The serated edge will catch monofilament line and cut it cleanly; however, the knife does not have a dedicated line cutter. That's the "hook" seen on some blades, and that feature works better if you need cut line under tension, as the hook will catch the line and cut it right at that point. A standard blade (serated or straight) might slip along the line instead.
Tegui B  Nigel, Many thanks for your very clear guidance. Is there another Wenoka knife model that has a dedicated line cutter? Regards, Teo
NIGEL L  Absolutely. The Titanium squeeze lock with the Tanto rip has a line cutter, and the blunt tip model also. Look for the words "line cutter" in the description. I have two Wenoka knives, one stainless and one titanium, both squeeze lock, and both are very good dive tools.
Steve T  is this knife titanium coated?
JEFF D  It doesn't appear to be a Titanium coating from looking at it.. and the $50+ price tag makes me think it is a true Titanium blade. I have a friend with a Titanium coated blade type knife and the two don't look anything alike. You can tell that his is definitely a coating. This is a great knife all the way around. If given a choice I would buy it again.
ROB S  Its not a coating, it is titanium. Great knife, and no corrosion!
ROGER R  No, it is made of titanium. This is a great knife, I have purchased 4.
YAN G  Not a coating, solid titanium.
Shopper  can you fasten to weight belt?
MARILYN K  Yes. I have an OMER rubber weight belt and it fastens to it perfectly -- doesn't slide around easily, but also has a screw to make the initial fastening easy
JULIAN S  yes, the sheath of the knife has a loop to be attached to a weight belt. I have 2 wenoka zqueeze lock knives I use in that way for freediving.
ELLIOT R  Not easily.
GREGORY O  Yes I attached mine to my bc
CHARLES H  I guess it is possible but not recommended. Most attach to our pressure gage hose. Much more convenienet and accessable.
MIYUKI S  Yes.
NIGEL L  It could be fastened to a weight belt BUT the better place is on your BC. Weights might get ditched and if so, your knife is gone. Mine is attached to the corrugated hose on my BC, easy to reach.
