Great wet suit I've had 3 of them .I surf a lot so I go through wet suits. I do wish that the Epic 4/3 3XL came in the chest zip style and still fit like the back zip. Just because I'm a big guy doesn't mean I don't want to look cool .lol also can you guys give us a bit more tab at the locked in neck flap really hard to open and velcro is so strong that it damages the wetsuit.

Absolutely you can dive in this suit. With it being a thicker suit just make sure before going on the dive what weight you will have to add to counter act.

No the seams are not taped, however, they are very well stiched and I have had no issues. Love the suit and recommend it.

what is 4mm and what is 3mm?

The forward core/torso is primarily 4mm with 3mm surrounding the back zipper for flexibility, the arms and legs are 3mm proximally and 2mm distally. Overall a super comfortable suit and a great value.

IIRC the arms and lower legs are 3mm, the rest is 4mm. My advice is to just get one, especially if you have an athletic build and are hard to fit. I've been very pleased with mine, and Leisure Pro's service and prices beat out most. - Mike

With all neoprene wetsuits, the first number (4mm) represents the thickness of the neoprene in the torso area and the second number (3mm) represents the thickness of the neoprene in the extremities

4mm and 3mm represent the thickness of the wetsuit in millimeters. The heavy wear parts of the suit are 4mm thick and the other parts of the suit are 3mm thick. The thicker the suit, the more body heat can be retained and thus the warmer the wearer stays.

Good news bad news.
Still diving but I'm becoming a geezer so my 3/2 isn't warm enough any more for long drift dives. Also good for summer white water when water isn't snow melt.
