Great spear head for lion fish but they can be difficult to remove?UNLESS you are feeding them to nurse sharks.

Help fight the Lionfish epidemic with the Lionfish spear tip. This six-pronged, barbed tip is made of corrosion resistant stainless steel and makes quick work of your catch. Six prongs mean that you have a larger target area and the barbed tips quickly secure your catch. This spear tip will fit any standard 6mm threaded shaft. Tip measures 1.25 x 4.25" (31.75 x 108mm) and has 6mm threads. For compatible spear pole see SKU: AQULFP.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Do you have a protective tip for this particular spear head?
KELLY R  Mine from Leisure Pro did not come with a protective tip. It could be taken off the spear and put back into the blister pack after each use, but that's a hassle. What I'd do is cut little sections of surgical tubing and stick each one part way down on each of the metal prongs. Should work!
GREG R  This tip does not come with a protective tip. With a little effort I was able to fit a tank valve cover to cover the points of this spear head.
JASON P  There isn't one that I have found on the market. I just cut out a tennis ball and use it for the tip.
todd c  my spear is smaller than a 6mm tip. got em?
KEVIN F  No, we do not have this tip available in a thread smaller than 6mm.
JAMES L  I forget whether this spear head is made to fit 6mm or 7mm, but it will certainly not fit anything smaller. By the way, it is very good for getting Lionfish.
BERNARDO M  Yes this speear is greate I use it in Cozumel marine park were lion fish are small, and smart not get cought, once you hitvthem they wont go away
Shopper  Will this fit my Cyrano 850 shaft?
PIETER C  No
JAMES L  I wish I could give you the straight answer. It seems like most of these spear tips come in two sizes. The larger size fits my spear shaft. You do want the larger shaft, because if you hit a large (18") Lion, it will bend your spear shaft like a pretzel if you are using the smaller diameter shaft. The six prong tip works very well. On Bonaire where we have eliminated a lot of the bigger fish, the six prong tip will snag a small Lion where the 3 prong might barely miss to the right or left and it will still get the large ones. CaribJIm
KEVIN F  No, it will not.
Shopper  Will this thread onto a hammerhead shaft?
Monica s  I do not know what hammerhead shaft thread is. This tip is 6mm.
Shopper  Is this good for mullet?
B C  It is good for small size fish.
