This is a very stylish durable and comfortable top suit. Superior Australian made product. The zipper makes a whole difference in controlling how much warmth you want and most importantly making it very easy to put on.
I ordered the black/red model and I simply love how it looks with the Shark Skin short. Very happy with this product and purchase.
Great Top

A great top for paddling in cold water and air combination
This top uses Chill-Proof material to keep your torso and rear kidney area protected. It also uses a breathable compression fabric in the shoulders and arms to aid in endurance and muscle recovery. The compression fabric is SPF50+, so provides protection for your arms and shoulders from the sun. This top is designed for intense water sports where hard work is the priority and results are the focus. Sharkskin's Performance range has been created with the help of competition athletes. The designs use Chill-Proof material for full protection from the elements, flexible compression material to allow for maximum maneuverability during intense sports and neoprene for stretch and comfort.
The Sharkskin Performance Shirt comes with the added benefit of a heavy-duty zipper. This allows you to control the amount of heat you keep in by adjusting the zipper to suit the conditions. The Chill-Proof Material with an inbuilt radiator function provides the ultimate versatility by being able to zip-up for 100% warmth and protection, or zip-down when the sun comes out or your work rate goes up. It also has a high collar to keep your neck warm.
Sharkskin Chill-Proof Material is an aquatic specific, windproof 3-layer composite material that has been developed for water sports athletes. The comfortable 'micro fleece' layer is next to the skin and 'wicks' moisture and sweat away from the body to help keep you dry. The second middle 'technical' layer is 100% windproof yet breathes to regulate body temperature while stopping wind chill. The third outer layer is a nylon/Lycra blend for abrasion resistance and 4-way stretch. It is also UV resistant for sun protection and has a durable water repellent finish (DWR) to provide a protective shell that 'sheds' water. Sharkskin Chill-Proof is neutrally buoyant, anti-microbial, odor resistant, itch resistant and machine washable. Shirt is available in multiple colors and sizes.

No it doesn’t, but the stitching on the wrist keeps it securely and tight on ur errand keeps it from moving up.
ROBERT C
No, it does not.

What equivalent mm neoprene thermal capacity does this garment have?
Nick D
Ot sure, I wear mine in warm water 70 + and it keeps me toasty. Both in and out of the water.
Ammar A
I can estimate it based on its thickness to be around 1mm to 1.5mm
Derrick B
Comparable to 2mm

This is not built for warmth. It is built for ultra violet rays. It will keep you warm though. If you wore this under a 3mm wet suit It would work as a 5mm in fresh water at 40-50 ft diving. Depends on your location. 80f water this is good to down to 100ft. As was done in Cozumel in January. But it, you will not regret . Be sure to thouroughly rinse with fresh water after dive wring out and it will dry during surface interval.

I was asked to answer this by LP as I purchased 2 of them a year ago. I cannot answer exactly and their website does not provide that detail. I can tell you I do really enjoy them and I dive a lot in Cozumel, more so in the winter when the temps are 80 and maybe 79 on occasion. I generally do 2 long 80 to 90 minute dives and also have a Scuba Pro hooded vest on over it along with just board shorts (Mayan style). It is fine under these conditions but I will say that during the last 10-15 minutes I start to get a bit chilled more so at 79 than 80. When the temps are 81-82, I am fine the whole dive and of course when the temps head up beyond that, it is all I need and really don't even need the hooded vest past 82-83. When I am here in the summer and the temps are 85...again, no problem as a solo piece of insulation for long extended dived. I bought 2, so I can change them out between dives meaning I can put a dry one on for the second dive. The quality is good but I will say that after about 100 dives in them, the Sharkskin lettering on the right sleeve is starting to lift off. I believe this is the first one I ordered as I got them a few months apart and appears to be an older design from the second one which is not doing this with the lettering. I did do a trip to the Socorro Islands last summer and the temps where 75. I used these inside an Akona 3mm full suit and it was great. All is all a good product and would buy it again for sure.

Thank you!

will this keep me warm as an outer layer for prone paddleboarding resisting water?
Ammar A
From my experience, I beleive it will keep you warm so long as you dont jump in water. The fabric is very clothy in the inside, not like the standard rash guards or neoprene ones. So if water gets in, it will not dry fast and you will feel very cold if the weather is cold.
THOMAS W
Also, Sharkskin make a jacket for Paddle boarders. It is 104.00 on Leisurepro. Check it out before you buy this. It has pockets for your stuff too.. This does not.
THOMAS W
Yes it absolutely will. Run through non salt water after use and wring out and it's dry in no time. These are the bomb no doubt. I have one that I used in Cozumel recently for multiple diving and the Divemasters there were keen on me leaving it behind for them. No way. I love this Rash Guard. Money well spent. The orange one is nice, with the front zip. If you buy it, keep an eye on it. Good luck.
Derrick B
I use for scuba in Caribbean and its far superior to rash guard. Won't resist water much but fleece liner offers good thermal retention for torso...subject to local conditions.
Nick D
Yeah I would think so. I dive in mine and keeps me toasty in water temps down to 70.
UTHMAN E
is this a good top for diving & how does sizing run? does it run small or large, or is it tru to sz
THOMAS W
Runs a wee bit tight, but it will work. It's tough.
THOMAS W
Yes it is great for warm water diving. Ultimately most divers are different in physique. At 80 degrees this is great for first and second dives to about 80 feet. Depends where you are going to use it. I used mine on Cozumel recently for multiple ocean dives in January but I'm fairly thick skinned. On the Cenotes dives I used this as an undergarment for a 3mm wet suit and it was perfect. Rather than haul a 5mm suit around the Caribbean just take a 3mm and this. All set.

Good for layering, and runs a bit small.

Why Did You Choose This?
MARTY O
Need. Little bit more room than the Medium has. Other paddlers recommended this brand.
