Worked well for my pony bottle.

Oceanic introduces it new Alpha 10 sPX Regulator. Simple, dependable and economical. What else would you expect from a design as refined and perfected as the Alpha? Effortless breathing in a compact design that is extremely tough yet easy to maintain and service. The Oceanic Alpha 10 + sPX DIN First Stage Regulator is a non-balanced flow-by piston designed regulator. This simple yet fail-safe design will deliver air even if there is a first stage failure. Made of triple chromed marine grade brass for durability and long life, the first stage has 4 LP ports and 2 HP port with 3/8" and 7/16" threads. The LP ports are angled for optimum hose routing. Regulator can be used with air or nitrox mixtures up to 40 percent right out of the box.

The Alpha 10 Second Stage Regulator is pneumatically balance demand valve design regulator for ease of breathing at all depths and cylinder pressures. The balanced feature will perform flawlessly at high and low cylinder pressures automatically. Oceanic's adjustment technology, dive/pre-dive venture control will prevent unwanted free flow when surface swimming from the shore, jumping off the back of a boat or diving into a current and a super comfortable orthodontic mouthpiece with bite tabs increase dive enjoyment The low profile light weight second stage has a 2.66" (6.75 cm) diameter. A highly durable and flexible 30" (76.2 cm) Miflex braided low pressure 3/8" threaded hose further increases diving comfort. Regulator comes with an owner's manual. Regulator is proudly made in the USA.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Shopper  How is it with cold water ?
JOE S  It works fine in temps down to 50 degrees F and is a non-balanced 1st stage regulator. I would recommend an environmentally sealed regulator for colder water than that and balanced if you are going to be doing deeper diving.
STEVEN H  The 1st stage is sealed and ribbed for thermal efficiency. With controlled breathing, I have had this in 37 degrees at 80’ for 45 minutes with zero issues. Controlled breathing is the key to any reg freezes.
STEVEN H  This unit is EN 250A rated, meaning it was tested in cold water at 100’ and 50F. I have not had any issues with this reg in 35ish temps at 80’ for 40+ minutes, but I’ve also trained my breathing to not “huff & puff”. The harder, and more frequent you breathe, the quicker the regs will freeze. I do recommend this reg for cold water, but it is not ‘specifically’ designed for cold. The Sherwood Blizzard is a fantastic cold water reg if you are looking for something specific to ice cold. Otherwise, this one will do you fine as it is a fully sealed and ribbed 1st stage for water radiant warming. Best of luck to you.
Carmen F  This regulator is has a unbalanced piston. Which is the difference against the model delta 5EDx model which has balanced diaphragm?
JOE S  The unbalanced piston does not adjust intermediate pressure with depth. The balanced diaphragm will change IP with depth to breath with the same ease very deep as it would very shallow. Or in any position as described in the previous answer.
Scuba.com Staff  The typical engineering response to this question is that a balanced regulator will perform the same inverted as upright and the unbalanced one will not perform well inverted. So, if you seldom swim upside down (face up and back down) you won't notice any difference with this regulator.
Shopper  Is the purge button rubber or is it plastic?
Arthur G  Yup, what Steve said!
STEVEN H  The purge button is made of polycarbonate, which is a heavy plastic compound. You can’t go wrong with this regulator. It has been one of my favorites. The first stage is also sealed and ribbed for enhanced cold water.
RAY R  It is made of a hard plastic compound. Very durable.
JOE S  It is plastic.
JOHN C  Outer cover is plastic. The inner diaphragm is silicone rubber.
Trevis B  It's plastic.
