Great general purpose light - I measured the beam angles

By JAMES B.

 -  Fayetteville, TN, US

This is an excellent value, American made, won't overheat in water or on land, lasts at least as long as advertised, and has a simple-stupid design. I own two, often using one as a primary. It's easy to grease the 2 o-rings. To turn on, it takes firm but limited twisting. You don't have to twist far in either direction when near to the "on" position. Unscrew it a little, and it turns off. Since no one seems to know the beam angles, I decided to measure them. Yes, I used geometry, tape measure...

Great light

By Bradley M.

 -  Walnut Creek, CA, US

Absolutely love this light. Very bright and because it is compact I can always carry it with me.

Introducing the UK SL3 (L2) eLED dive light - your reliable and high-performance companion for underwater exploration. Offering unmatched value, this dive light delivers the brightest illumination for your buck, making it an indispensable tool for both beginners and seasoned divers.

Heading on vacation and planning to explore beneath the ocean ledges or dive into wall cracks? Or maybe you're a pro, seeking a trustworthy back-up or secondary light for your night, wreck, and cave diving adventures? Either way, the UK SL3 (L2) dive light has got you covered.

Thanks to its power source of three disposable C-size alkaline batteries, you'll never be left in the dark, wondering if your dive light is charged. Plus, it's the perfect companion in places where electricity might not be readily available.

Featuring an intuitive twist on/off bezel switch secured by a double O-ring seal, this dive light guarantees flawless functionality and watertight integrity. Its beam, aided by a total internal reflection (TIR) reflector, offers a brilliantly bright center spot supplemented by low-level peripheral lighting.

The UK SL3 (L2) houses a high-intensity white LED lamp that emits 425 lumens of dazzling brightness. With a burn time of 5.5 hours, it offers a remarkable beam distance of 628' (192m) on land. Rated to a depth of 500' (150m), this USA-made light ensures top-notch performance standards.

Encased in a corrosion-resistant ABS and polycarbonate housing, it features a handy stainless-steel loop swiveling clip, perfect for lanyard attachment or for clipping to your BCD. Compact in design, this light measures 7.9" x 2" x 2" (20cm x 5cm x 5cm) and weighs a mere 13.3 oz. (376.5 g).

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

KENNETH M  How is this improved from the $39.95 model?
KEVIN F  The older model is 125 lumens. The current model is 425 lumens.
Chad B  Specs state this flashlight weighs 13.3 ounces. Is this with, or without the batteries?
Rick Y  Yes, this light weighs 13.3 oonces with batteries. I bought this light, which came with batteries, and added a snap bolt to ring. My light weighs just under 15 ounces. I've had one dive with it so far and it worked great. For maintenance, just keep o-rings lubed with silicone lube.
ANTHONY T  With batteries
FERNANDO C  With the lanyard and batteries mine weights exactly 14 ounces.
Chad B  Would you consider the UK Sunlight SL3 a wide, or narrow focus light beam?
Scott A  What I've seen above water is a narrow focus beam. But I actually haven't had a chance to dove with it yet. So, I may not be a good resource just yet. I apologize.
WESLEY W  On a dve trip in roatan as I type. I would consider this narrow, but extremely bright. It's the only thing I'm using at night. Very nice light! You won't be disappointed
Todd D  It has an adjustable beam, the more you turn it, the more focused it becomes. But it is definitely not a FLOOD light. It's a relatively narrow beam.
BARBARA S  I'd say it's a narrow focus beam but it does give some viewing range To the sides of your target focal point. It's a useful overall light.
Joseph v  Narrow, some splash outside buts it's a pretty good little circle.
Antonio M  I would say it is not either. It provides a normal angle. There are other types of flash lights that you can change from a narrow angle to a much wider angle. Try the tovatec 1000. Strong light in narrow view and you can adjust by twisting the front to a wide view with high power.
MANUEL G  Wide light bean
Joseph M  It is in between both. This is a very bright dive light that would make an excellent primary or secondary. I took it to Cozumel this year and it would light up around a 10-15 yard area at 20-40 yards. Very good light.
FERNANDO C  I will consider it a narrow beam.
ALAN C  Does the SL3 use the same LED light and lense cover as the SL4 ? Note SL3 = 3 C cells verses SL4 with 4 C cell batteries.
KEVIN F  No, it is not the same assembly.
Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
WILLIAM N  Used this light for 3 years, very bright, lost it on recent dive trip, buying this to replace the one I lost.
CHARLES G  Great light
MAX K  As a backup light
CHRISTOPHER C  Ratings and reviews on different sites
LARON C  Needed a dive light
MICHAEL M  I wanted a back up dive light.
Stacey L  good light with long battery life and bright
ARNEL G  I picked it because of simple design and very good review. Value for money.
MARIAMA W  Online review said it was a good product for the price and it was on sale.
PAUL K  Higher light output
Arthur T  I wanted a new light after having bought and used a 4 cell Toshiba for close to 25 yrs. This one is about the same price as the ones I bought yrs ago but brighter.
GENE H  C cell batteries provide current to drive the lamp brighter and longer than AA batteries, and the tube lights of ABS plastic do not corrode or easily crush.
DAWN H  Great light for the price but, I've decided I don't care for the twist on option. I'll keep this light to use as a backup but, will be purchasing a primary light once I find what I'm looking for.
