The Gear Aid Aquaseal+NEO Contact Cement was just what I needed to glue up the parts for my hydration pack insulator. I had some 3mm neoprene available and wanted to make an insulated cover for the bladder in my pack. I like to carry ice-water and when it sweats in the warm, humid air everything in the pack gets soaking wet. Nothing better than pulling on that bite valve and getting ice cold water. Some people even use these to keep their fluids from freezing in cold environments too. Once I ...cut out my pattern and followed the directions on the can, everything went together very well.
The product is easy to work with. I used the brush that came with the screw-top lid. The odor is not unpleasant and easily tolerated. It dried evenly after the first coat, waited five minutes and I applied the second coat, this time waiting ten minutes before clamping or pressing pieces together and allowing to dry undisturbed. All the seams held great and continue to be fine!
I know these pouches are available for purchase but since I had the material, I figured I 'd take the time to make my own. I cut a small window out where the drinking tube attached to the bladder to make it easier to reconnect. I didn't anticipate the thin neoprene tearing at the corners. I made them 90°s. I should have rounded them and reinforced them before first use. I back-taped the window with 1" Gorilla Tape and then I used some AquaSeal+FD around the front edge of the window to reinforce it. I had used purple masking tape (delicate surfaces) on the front to help with sharp edges there where I could. Great Products from AquaSeal!

Will this work to attach latex seals to a tri-lam type drysuit?
CHARLES K
Yes, I believe it will. It worked great for me sealing a tear & patch on my 3ml wetsuit.
TREVOR D
No, it wont

I wish to brush on several thin layers of Seal Cement as it comes from the tube I have.
I want the layers to be quite thin, say 10 mil thick.
This will require utilizing a thinning solvent. Toluene is used in this product.
Is there another solvent, besides toluene, that could be used?.
Thank you.
David E
You need to use Toluene; other solvents do not work (well.). You can buy a quart of this online and have it shipped to places where it is not sold because it's a volatile compound. It you will have to put out some effort to find that. Don't spend time going to paint or hardware stores as mostly they are no longer permitted to sell it except to labs or business accounts. Call and infirm they will ship to your address; they just have to package the shipment with special sealed containment.
Hope this works out for you.
