I have 2!

By Al B.

I have 2 of these (I liked the first so much, I bought a second for my professional setup). I use these as strict backups for my computer so in case of failure of the computer, I do not have to cancel the dive. With Pressure, depth, and compass all in one in an easy-to-read package, how can you go wrong? When I need a third set for my children, I will buy this again.

Wonderful

By Papa

Bought this as a back-up to my computer, for the peace of mind when my computer screen goes blank. I don't have to surface, I can keep diving. Very sleek and comfortable, tucks away nicely while diving.

Mares, has always paid special attention and devotee's its self to ergonomic design. The material used in manufacturing Mares instruments boots, are highly shock resistant elastomer to protect the gauges accuracy, and affords a secure grip in every situation with any type of glove. The compact pressure gauge with its durable brass case and techno polymer lens has a luminesce dial for easy reading in day or night diving situations. Face of pressure gauge is color coded for safe air reserve in a glance.

Pressure gauge has 0 to 5,000 psi readout with a safety reserve 1000 psi color coded in red to allow the diver to know that they are low on air. The 2000 psi to full scale is color coded in blue. The pressure gauges 7/16" UNF neoprene jacket double braided high-pressure hose has a 360-degree swivel and is 36" (90cm) long. Gauge is nitrox ready to 40% oxygen out of the box.

This very accurate oil filled depth gauge reads depth from 0' to 230' and comes equipped with a maximum depth indicator needle (MDIN). The MDIN is pushed by the gauge depth needle until the diver meets their maximum depth. The MDNI will remain at the maximum depth reached for the duration of the dive to indicate the diver's deepest depth reached during the dive. This feature allows the diver to not record that depth while diving, yet will be available upon surfacing for later calculations for repetitive dives. Depth Gauge is color coded for easy and safe reading at a glance. Depth Gauge has a 0' to 230' readout with a safety red color-coded section from 0' to 30'.

The compass is oil filled for a quick and responsive movement. Dual magnets give faster response and with a maximum working tilt angle of 20-degree ensures accurate compass headings. A ratchet bezel with compass headings in 10-degree increments and 30-degree indicator marks. Bezel has twin heading indicators for alignment of compass course, and a double lined lubber line across the compass face. A side window with compass degrees allows gun-sight accurate use when precise headings are required. Compass card is luminescent for low light conditions. The impact-resistant boot has multiple eyelets for attachment of clips or lanyards to keep the gauge close at hand and from dragging over the environment.

Q&A

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

DIEGO M  Do you have it METRIC, and how do I make that extra clear in the order? I had to return one already. thanks
Mario C  Thank you for your question. We do not carry this item in metric at the moment. the only Mares mission we sell at the moment in metric in the single gauge you will see below.
Trini G  The Mission 3 console picture does not match your written description - does not look like the gauge is in imperial units? What is accurate here?
Mario C  Thank you for your question and all answers. Nice catch the picture is displaying the metric version. Go with the description, it does say imperial so you can expect feet/psi. Sorry for the confusion. Hope it helps.
JOHN T  i purchased the Mares 3 gauge console and it arrived with imperial units.
MICHAEL P  The console looks like the picture and the description should indicate if the one you are o during is imperial or metric.
Edward M  It comes in Imperial or Metric. Make sure you order what you want.
Shopper  Does this work in night or light light conditions?
RAFAEL F  negative
DOUG E  I haven't done any night dives with it so I wouldn't know. I'm happy with it's performance & would recommend it to others.
MARCIA K  The Mares Mission 3 console has a Luminescent Dial feature allowing an easy read during low light and night dives. (remember: we always carry 2 torches when night diving hence seeing the console is not a problem). As a PADI certified Instructor I prefer the Mares Mission 2 and Mission 3 consoles for myself and my students.
STEVE M  First off, mine has been in for repair 3 times with barely any use and I try my stuff really well... but that's just mine. Filled up with water 3 times so I bought a new one. It does have a glow in the dark feature so u can see it at night but lets be honest - if you aren't bringing a flashlight with you at night for general use and to point to the device you shouldn't be diving ;)
YAN G  Yes, they have a luminescent face.
Shopper  Does it work with Nitrox?
TERESA L  Sorry, i have never used Nitrox. But it is a reliable console.
ALLEN L  Yes, I have used it with nitrox a couple of times and no problems.
BRAD W  It definitely works with Nitrox. I'm pretty sure it's in the specs, and I am assuming it's less than 40% O2. I've used Nitrox on about 100 dives with it and its worked great. The SPG is reliable. And for depth, it is a great back up for lets say if you leave you dive comjputer on a boat and don't realize it until you are in the water. And of course it has a compass. The Mission 1 is nice if you want to streamline things a bit, but the 3 is a good product for the price. Some how the price always seems to go up and it's not a new product. I bought mine over two years ago for somewhere aron $140-160 from Leisurepro.
GERARDO P  It works great with air. Never use it with nitrox. Sorry can't help.
CRAIG C  I read the manual and it does up to 50% oxygen...It says not to switch between nitrox and air...Only use it for one mixture it says...Hope that helps...I found the manual online..Just googled it if u want to read it for yourself....Hope that helps
CYNTHIA H  It does
Shopper  How does this console get upgraded with the Puck computer?
AMY A  I have both this console and the Puck. I wear the Puck watch style and use the console as is. I haven't tried, so I'm not sure you can pop out the depth gauge and replace it with the Puck. I do know that Mares makes a Mission 3 console with a Puck computer already in it, so it may be possible. Considering your pressure gauge is also housed in the console, if you already own one or both pieces of gear, you might want to take it to your dive shop so you don't accidentally mess up the pressure gauge doing a DIY job.
