Great Hand-Mounted Light

By Jeff K.

 -  Wellington, OH, US

Purchased light to illuminate nooks and crannies during day dives, and as a backup light for night dives (have two strobes on camera rig with constant-on lights). On my last trip, I travelled wtihout camera, and this light performed flawlessly on night dives. Ran it at reduced power, had ample light, and battery life to spare at the end of the dives. Hand strap keeps hands free (to not touch the reefs) which facilitates camera operation. Easy to switch between Spot and Wide Angle, as well...

Questions about this item:

David M  Does this model have red light capability?
darrick c  Hello David, no this does not have a red light in it.
Andrew K  No it does not.
Shopper  How do I obtain a replacement battery for my SOLA DIVE 1200? Part No NTLOLG1800?
darrick c  Hello, you would need to send your light to the manufacture directly to replace the internal battery.
NATALIA K  Hello, does it have a black light to see bioluminescent at night diving?
RICHARD R  Not that I know of used in fresh water
HEATHER L  No
Angelo F  This particular model does not - if you are looking to illuminate bio at night then check out the LM Night Sea
Asif S  It does not Great light though
PHILLIP L  No
JENNIFER W  No it does not.
KELLY A  Does the hand strap come with this light?
AVA L  Yes, and it's been redesigned. I've had to replace a couple of them as the fabric frays. This is webbing and looks like it will hold up better.
RICHARD R  Yes comes with hand strap like it very much
Mario C  yes it does.
Asif S  Yes. It is built online the light. You can remove it if you want to but it is screwed on
BRANDON B  Yes, the nicely packaged light comes hand strap and charger. There was a bit of a chemical odor until I used it a few times.
Billy W  Yes.
Joel M  how is the sola dive 1200 better than the sola dive 2000? this on is only the 1200 but has a 1200 lumens and last 1 hour.. but the 2000 has a cap of 600 Lumens
JEFF K  Joel, I selected the 1200 as a primary light for diving during the day, for looking into crevices and the like. I am a photographer, and my strobes have built-in lights. On my last trip, I used this as my primary light for night diving (didn't bring camera rig), and was happy with the performance. I operated it at reduced power, to ensure that it would last for the duration of the dive - and it performed well. Personally, I don't think the 2000 lumen output is necessary, unless you intend to use this as a video light. On my wife's video rig, she uses a pair of 5000 lumen lights (from another manufacurer) to illuminate subjects on daytime dives. On night dives, she reduces power, and gets positive results. If you are simply going to use this as a dive light - I think either will fulfill your needs. I went with the 1200 because of the price - as it was "on sale" and less expensive than the 2000. Jeff
