Since I just started diving I wanted to buy long-lasting items, that's why I bought some of these also taking into account my instructor's point of view.
They are quite functional and their vinyl coat make them easy to handle plus lead does not have contact with the water as with un-coated lead weights (less water contaminated by lead).

Sea Pearls lead weight is manufactured from lead that has been reclaimed from car batteries. The reclaimed lead is melted down and supplemented with small amounts of other elements to enhance its properties. This new alloy is then used to create the coated lead weights. You like the more traditional weight belt for several reasons. I have read that some belts are too think to thread thru these slots? Has anyone else had this come up?

I've used it with standard 2" webbing and a rubber freediving belt without problems. With the rubber belt you need to stretch it while you slide the weights, but it's not really a problem.

Is the 1 lb weight still a weave through style with the 2 slots, or does it have just a single slot for feeding the belth through?

My 1 lb weights are not coated; they have 2 slots and will fit on a belt

I was hoping for something more accurate than an assumption. I've seen these coated weights as single threads before and just wanted to make sure about the purchase before shipping them all the way to canada.
