Are these essential for the zeagle BC's? I have a zena on order. Do they come with weighs actually in them, or do you need to order them also? If so, what are the best weights to use in them?
AMIR S
Mel, my understanding is that these weight pouches are not essential to use with Zeagle's newer ditchable weight systems. However, I recommend using these pouches to make loading and unloading of weight between dives a little easier.

Mel,
I also have the rear tank trim pouches, with a little experimenting you can get to float straight up on the surface. Once again they aren't essential but they sure do make it nice to get yourself how you want to be in the water. If you dive with a lot of weight it also gives you more places to spread out your weight.

Mel,
They aren't essential but they sure make it nice and easy to put the weights in and take them out. I use the soft shot pouches and they seem to work fine. I was afraid if I used the hard weights they may get cut if they were dropped. I dive with a dry suit and have them completely loaded and the need some one else to load them for me because it is kind of a tight fit with the BC on. I really think they are worth the money and I would order them again

They are just the bags to hold weights. If you are buying a new BC is should come with the bags. The weights are seperate and I would get the soft weights

The pouches are not necessary, but rather a convinced to be able to remove all of your weights in one package, rather than each individual weight. I normally use the shot type weight pouches, but it works equally well with lead weights typically used for belts, such as you may encounter on boat dive trips

yes, over time, your rip cord for emergency weight dump will expand a little bit, this pouch will keep smaller weights from falling through

Mel, this item is nice to have to keep your weights together in case you need to dump your weights. They are not a necessity, but would recomend them. You will have to order your weights, they do not come with these pouches. The best weights to use with these pouches are the lead shot weights. I am actually in process of ordering another set for our dive team on my fire dept.

Great thanks, I also read that you can add weights to your tank in pouches that attach to your tank straps. Can u use those instead of the BC pocket weights? or in addition to the BC integrated weight?
MARK S
chances are you won't be able to put that much weight on your tank that way. Im pretty sure you will still need to put weights in your pockets. I have a Zeagle Ranger and they come with 2 weight pockets on the back and I only put a 5lb on each side and the rest in the front pockets. I usually run about 28lbs for me so I need the front pockets...

I use them for my course of search & recovery because they are just great for it. The color yellow is great to see them under water and they are very resistant.

They are essential to be able to remove weight with out pulling ripcord. They do not come with weight, it is at pouch holder only (2). The best weight is shot weight for the pouch to conform to pocket on BC, but they will accept solid weight as well.
