The Dive Rite Stainless Steel Assembly Screws are used for attaching various accessories to a Transpac harness or to a hard back plate (such as lift bag pouches, suit inflation mounting systems and side mount butt plates). Another common use is to secure the wing to the Transpac harness or hard back plate when rigged for a single tank. Designed to fit through a 3/8" hole, the Stainless-Steel Assembly Screws include O-rings that create friction to help keep the screw in place. Screws are sold as a set of two.

How long / tall is the post on the female end of this set? I.e. when the set is screwed together, what is the clearance between the two inner faces of the set?

I didn't measure it, but it tightens the backplate and the harness flush.

The height of the shaft for the female end is approximately 1 cm to 1/2 inch +/-. As a result, you cannot make the two, flat end pieces get any closer than that length. The male end is threaded along its entire length of the shaft. My Dive Rite BC has holes with grommets in it to accomodate the assembly screw. So i am able to tighten the screw down completely.
Personally I would want to have at least 5 threads into the female end to ensure that the screw would not torque or twist out.
