Easy to Install

By btw2459

Received this yesterday and installed it into the Dive Rite mask I got at the same time. Easy to install and I liked the template that comes with the lenses to help the installation. One thing you need to remember is that once you've glued the lens to your mask the mask must remain horizontal or the lense has the potential to slip out of position - mine did (had to re-apply the glue and lens. I've had other magnifying lenses before and a top tip is to make sure your hands are grease free...

Looks okay

By Bike M.

Haven't tried this product yet, but it looks good. I have heard that they don't stay on the mask once they get wet. I will try an alternate glue that isn't water based.

Aqua Optics stick-in magnifier lenses allow divers and snorkelers a quick & economical solution to adding magnification in dive masks. Reading your fish ID card, watch or camera settings is now possible without the expense of a full prescription mask. These optical-quality glass stick-on lenses are removable and reusable if you change masks yet won't accidentally wash out if your mask is flooded with water. Each package includes two semi-circular lenses, installation glue, and complete instructions. Installation takes minutes, and the glue sets completely in 6 hours. Five powers +1.00 to +3.00, with increments +0.5 available to fit a wide range of needs. Scuba mask is not included. Install these lenses in any scuba or snorkel mask with flat lenses.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

TAMMY C  Did you purchase the same magnification that you use for reader glasses? Did that magnification work well for you?
ALAN K  It did. The magnifiers though are less than ideal as you can only see em in a very small area. Better than nothing but not by much.
Darl M  I didn’t have luck with them they kept moving I bought a mask with them made right in things are magnified under water so I didn’t need as strong of prescription
steven m  Yes i did and they worked without issues
MICHAEL H  Yes, i ordered the same magnification, and they were perfect. I can read my gauges now without any issue.
LORNE L  Yes, I got close to the reader glasses and it works fine.
DAVID T  Yes, that worked fine for me.
BRUCE B  Are these made of glass or composite or plastic?
MARILYN W  I do not think they are glass, but don't know whether it is a composite material or plastic.
steven m  I am pretty sure they are plastic.
LAWRENCE P  My mask has corrective lenses, diopter -5.0. Will these work for seeing my gauges and computer more clearly?
JOEL S  Absolutely not. The lenses will only stick to a mask that has no prescription. I tried putting them on a mask with a prescription similar to yours and it did not work.
LARRY MICHAEL L  Not sure I understand. If you have corrective lenses already in the mask why are you adding magnifiers? Also, negative diopters are for nearsightedness if I'm right. I guess if you are nearsighted they might work. I'm farsighted and only have experience with positive diopters. I don't think they would work over a curved surface of corrective lenses already in the mask. I didn't have success with this style magnifier and ended up getting very large prescription lenses in my mask.
ROBERT D  Yes
Ezio B  is it made of silicon and can be moved from one mask to another?
DIANE T  My husband doesn’t remove his, and I would advise buying a few pairs so you don’t have to move them. He swears by them. He says also to be careful not to rub them when you rinse the mask. Hope this helps. D
PHYLLIS C  Not sure what they are made of it's been so long ago I bought them. They can be moved because you will not get the field of vision you want the first time. Some experimenting is needed to adjust.
JAMES G  Believe it is silicone, not positive, easily moved to another mask.
Ken W  How small are these readers? I want to put them in a Scubamax ARC micro mask and because they are glass, I can't cut them like the flexible suction type.
WALTER B  NOT FAMILIAR WITH YOUR MASK. HOWEVER, MINE IS A PRETTY SMALL VOLUME, CRESSI AND THE LENSES FIT JUST FINE. THEY ARE SEMI-CIRCULAR, 1 1/2 " IN DIAMETER. HOPES THIS HELPS.
Ken W  Thank you for all the responses. I like the idea of grinding. I have some ultra fine disks that might work.
ADRIAN M  About 1 inch wide by 1/2 inch tall.
JAMES G  About the size of a quarter
JOHN G  I as able to grind them on a fine grit wheel to fit in a Cressi evotution mask , works well
JOHN M  Ken, I am out of the country for a week and do not have my mask with me , so I can not give you an exact measurement of the optics. I can tell you I have used different brands for over 15 years { I am an instructor]and I finally went to the glass optics so I could glue them in with epoxy. Several times not in a controlled space or bucket the stick ins fell out and got lost. They work perfectly in both my masks. Let me know if you have another question John
MURRAY A  I'm not familiar with your mask, but the optics are a little over an inch long and three quarters of an inch wide. Hope this helps.
