LavaCore Shorts

By AJ

I used the shorts as a base layer will reef diving and centoes diving in Cancun. They felt comfortable and dried quickly. I live in California and can't wait to use them in Monterey Bay.

Very Comfortable

Leisure Pro consistently delivers quickly. Great customer service with returns and exchanges.

Lavacore is a technically advanced fabric, constructed and engineered exclusively for water sports requiring the ultimate in thermal control and superior comfort. Thermal and neutral buoyancy properties create the ideal garment - under a neoprene wetsuit for added insulation and warmth or as a stand-alone exposure protection garment. The unique design of Lavacore materials eliminates constriction and allows for extreme movement and flexibility while regulating your core warmth.

Lavacore shorts are made with an exclusive Polytherm Tri-Laminate. Ideal for use as a primary exposure garment in warmer waters or as a supplemental undergarment in colder waters. Windproof and breathable providing anti-wind chill properties while also drawing moisture away from the body on the surface, ensuring warmth in cold conditions. For the ultimate in warmth Lavacore's Merino Laminate lined garments are super soft yet durable. Moisture wicking and anti-bacterial, the Merino fleece inner minimizes odor and keeps you warm above and below the surface.

Shorts are DWR: Durable Water Repellant has flat seam construction throughout for stretch and comfort. Lavacore is neutrally buoyant so you won't need to add weight to your weight system compromising your weight comfort zone. All seams are overlapped during flat-lock sewing to ensure maximum water integrity and strength. Lavacore provides SPF 50+ sun protection and is designed and developed with your guarantee of quality. Unisex shorts have a drawstring and a toggle fitted to the waist to keep them in place. The garment is also hypoallergenic. Shorts are black in color and is available in multiple sizes.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  "what is the inseam on the 4XL"?
BILL T  eleven inches
Shopper  I'm 5'9" about 177 pounds, wear size 32-33 waist pants with a 30" inseam.  I have very large thighs and wear a 42" jacket.  Do you think medium or medium large would be best?
Scuba.com Staff  I’m 5’9, 190 lbs. larger in the rear. I wear med for both the shorts and longer Lavacore pants. The are tight for sure but that’s what I wanted for diving.
TOM D  All of the Lavacore item run extremely small. I had to go up two sizes from the chart for the shirts and THREE size for the shirts. Insane.
DOREEN S  What is the inseam in the small size? I'm 5'3", wt 115# with a 30" waist. My men's O'Neil shorts are a size med and the waist is tight.
STEVE J  Can't speak for a size small, but, an X large size has a 9" inseam. I would buy a size larger than you normally wear, these run on the small side.
LARRY H  I am sorry, but I do not have the small size, and I don't know if my XL would be the same. But, I thought inseam was measured from the crotch to the bottom of the shorts or pants, and I don't know how that would impact waist being tight. Maybe I'm just confused.
DOREEN S  Sorry I wasn't clear. I just mentioned the waist size because I found it hard to believe a mens size medium would have a tight waist for me....I'm not a big person! Just wondered if I should get a small or a medium. By the size chart it sounds as though I would be a small. Thanks for your help. Doreen
JEFF H  I am 5'8" and typically wear a 32" waist, although a 31" would be fine usually. I ordered the small, but they were too tight, so I ended up with the medium. They fit fine. I don't have them available to measure the inseam for you, but they are the same length as my neoprene shorts and my polyester-type rash guard shorts. Fairly long but right. BTW, all the lavacore stuff takes FOREVER to dry. Love the feel, but not putting on damp shorts the next morning... I have multiple pairs of shorts for that reason (I wear them instead of a bathing suit under my wet suit for diving) Hope that helps.
Shopper  can sand get in them?
BARBARA S  No, sand does not get into them.
MARIO S  It's close and slim to the body and fits more to the body than slim swim wear. However if you try hard it finally gets into it. It's the perfect wear for warm water diving, easy to get on and keeps some heat to the body. Enjoy.
STEVE J  If you wear them to a beach, yea sand will get in them. If you're wearing while scuba diving I doubt it.
Aloy D  what size should a male 29-31 waist be wearing ?
MARIO S  Hello M is fine. It's so easy to use and fits comfortable.
STEVE J  I not certain, I'm a 36" waist and bought a large, maybe try the medium if they don't fit return it for another size.
BARBARA S  My husband has a 35" waist. He got the XL and they fit really welll.
