This knife was a gift to a young man who is the son of a friend of mine. He watched my cats while I got to dive Cozumel Mexico so I got him this knife which is the same knife I have and I enjoy. Thank you much JZ

Rating: Good knife - it is what it is, a not too small BC knife.
Reviewer: Roger B., Tuesday, November 08, 2011 - View all my reviews
Handle is rather thin. The blunt blade does have a pretty sharp point - not the typical prying point blunts normally have. I bought 2 blunts and in retrospect, I should have bought a sharp and a blunt just to compare better. Wanted something handy that I could grab easily with either hand for dealing with speared fish and cutting trot-lines and monofilament. The long serrated edge and somewhat sharp point of the blunt will do everything. Dilevery was very prompt with the economy shipping.

Rating: Good back up knife!
Reviewer: Eric P., Sunday, October 23, 2011
I dont know if you would use this as a fisrt or primary knife but it is a great backup! For now this was my first knife that I wanted to get for my scuba class. The Pointed tip actually has a serrated edge too! I used my knife in a dive under fresh water ad saw some rust marks. In the knifes defence I used WD-40 and not silicone grease. But its still a great knife!

I bought both the sharp and the blunt styles of this knife. The blunt goes diving with me while the pointed one stays on the boat. I like the one hand quick release and the small size, while its still easy to hold In a gloved hand. The price was great and I dont mind advertising for the site.

Great for a secondary knife. I mounted mine to my BCD so its always available. I dont always take my regular dive knife with me so this smaller knife keeps me prepared for any knife necessary situation.

Reviewer: Sue M., Friday, September 23, 2011
I needed an inexpensive dive knife for some simple shallow water tasks and this worked just fine. I have been careful to rinse and dry after saltwater exposure because Im afraid it wont hold up nearly as well as a titanium blade.

Altho I felt delivery would be a problem, it wasnt. The knife arrived only several days after placing the order. Why was delivery important ? Years back, when spearfishing, I got tangled up in my kayaks anchor rope. I didnt carry a knife then, was close to loosing my life- but luck was with me that time! Ill never go diving without a knife!!!

Rating: BC Dive Knife
Reviewer: Richard Adams, Thursday, June 16, 2011 - View all my reviews
A knive is an essential tool when diving, and this is a great knife for the money. If youve been diving for any length of time, you know that scuba accessories often get donated to Neptune i.e. lost at sea, so I hate to spend a lot for a knife knowing that sooner or later its going to get lost. This knife is as good or better than knives Ive paid five times as much for. It can be secured to a BC strap to make it easily accessible for cutting out of fishing line or killing a fighting fish youve speared (thats why I like the sharp point vs the flat). The knife was so inexpensive, I bought two. One goes on my BC shoulder strap mounted upside down for quick access and the other goes into a BC pocket for back-up.

High quality knife with easy yet secure sheath. Excellent for quick cutting work both on the boat and underwater. Only drawback is that it is designed for use with leg straps. since it is a small knife I would like it to be designed to attach to a hosse of computer console.

Reviewer: FLORIN G., Friday, June 11, 2010 - View all my reviews
Pros :Small, compact, great for backup BCD knife, well build. For the price is no way to beat it. Cons : Before I finished my first full day of dives with it, already developed stains and rust (yes it is that kind of "stainless" steel), so it needs more aftercare. To be fair, Ive seen diving knifes 5-8 times more expensive with the same rust issue. Conclusion :I give it 4 stars because of the rust but personally, I will buy again, If you can live with some rust stains on the blade it worth every penny

I bought this knife for my dad on Fathers day. I like it because it has a steel tipped handle for divers to bann on their tank in case they get lost. The blade itself is big enough to handle a tricky situation (entanglement etc.) but not so bulky that it could get caught on something itself.

I bouhgt this knife for my 11 year old as a reward for becoming certified. It is the perfect size for him. The only thing that I wish was different, I wish it came in a blunt tip, and th esheath was a little more substantial. But, for $13, it looks like a great little knife, to throw in with your gear.

Seems to be a well constructed little knife. I dove with it all weekend and forgot to take it out of my BC to dry it until today but still no rust. Has just a serrated blade and no notch but would work well as a backup.

As a new diver or a veteran diver money is tight and we all want the best bang for the buck, Myself being a new diver I want to spend my money on the right type diving products. This is my first dive knife, I like the appearance of this knife, looks to be of high quality at an inexpensive price. The knife is small but feels good in the hand, it is semi sharp the shank goes all the way through the handle to tap on tank. The sheath is made of plastic, the locking part seems to hold the knife in the sheath real well, but when knife is needed fairly easy to remove, seems to be a good purchase for the money.

This knife works ok, but 10 minutes after the first dive, yes the very first dive, on the boat ride back there were already rust spots on the knife. I expect that this would happen eventually, but not almost immediately after the first dive.

Had it with me as a back up. I probably didnt need it but I wanted to be a bad A$$ in case there were girls lol. I could not figure a good way to rig it to my BC though. I only have 10 dives under my weight belt. It and my other 5inch knife did not rust as a sprayed silicone spray and wiped it clean after use. I heard that these knives rust if you dont. I am amazed at the quality for the low price. I love this site.

This knife is awesome. Im not killing anything, so it serves its purpose perfectly. Its small enough to go unnoticed by people, but big enough to handle any job you may encounter under the sea that requires a knife. DEFINITELY worth the price, I cant see how they sell it for so cheap. The holster is great too, nice clipping action!

I was looking for a small inexpensive knife to take on dives with me and this fits the bill. It comes in its own sheath and you have the option of straight or serrated blade. Fits into knife holders well or you can carry it in a BC pocket. I havent used it underwater, nor can I comment yet on the longevity/durability but Im hoping it stands up to my initial impressions

Rating: Great small knife
Reviewer: Chris C., Wednesday, July 22, 2009
Over the past 20 years of diving, Ive owned my share of titanium dive knives, huge seahunt leg machete knives, cheapo throw-away knives, and just about everything between. Ive also lost just about every dive knife Ive ever owned. Now that I have more dive experience under my belt, I prefer to carry a knife which is small, sharp, has a decent sheath, is easy to wear, of reasonable cost, and it there when I need it. And thats why I bought this one. This knife works great attached to your BC, the sheath holds the knife in tight (so you wont lose it) and is easy to release with one hand. Some people see surface rust forming quickly on a non-titanium knife. Just rinse it with fresh water after the dive, dry it with a towel, and youre done. Since I rarely (almost never) use my knife, it stays very sharp so if I ever do get tangled in rope or fishing line, it will be up for the job. This knife is up for cutting any line and I would completely trust it for that. Sure, there are better knives on the market, but for the price and value, you cant go wrong. At least pick up one or two for use as a backup - youll be glad you did.

The holder and handle look just like the more expensive knife we bought. When this knife went on sale, we decided we couldnt resist buying it too. We havent used it in the water yet and hope to never have to - but we have already used it on land and it had cut whatever weve needed. Its compact and will easily zip-tie wherever I decide to put it on my BC. Great little knife with a great little price.

You dont need anything flashy from your utility knife. This knife does anything the high $ knives do. I dove with twice with it already. It cuts fishing line effectively. It cleans easily. It fits in a BC pocket or can be worn with a knife strap. Id recommend this for everyone from novice to well experienced.

This knife in not photogenic for sure, but once you see it for yourself youll notice it is comparable and as appealing to far more expensive knives. The handle has a flat shape to keep a low profile, the case has enough slots to attach it to the BC. For the price get an extra one for your buddy. Guillermo

the clip to hold the knife in the sheath works well. but getting the clip to engage when putting the knife in the sheath is a bit tricky. some fiddling around is necessary to get the clip to engage properly. even so, id recommend a good tug on the knife-handle once you hear it click in place just to ensure its properly locked in.

I bought a couple of these knives for myself and for x-mas gifts, and thought they were a great deal for the price. Yes there are cons to the knives but the pros simply out-wieght them for the price. I have purchased a few products on-line and by will-call and scuba.com is as good as any local scuba shop around, very courtious and knowledgable. I had a tough time finding a spot to attach the knives so I cut two spare 5 inch pieces of nylon webbing folded them in half and attached them to the screws in the back of the holder like a belt loop on both ends added some ties and it works great. And every manufacture puts a big logo on there product so dont worry about the Scuba.com logo.

Great little knife, better than some of my friends $30.00 knives. Dont worry about rust, of coarse any steel is going to rust, this knife hasnt gotten anything on it that i couldnt wipe off after a dive. It holds pretty well in the sheath, i wrapped a zip tie around the top to hold it in better. Of coarse it has scuba.com written on it, but no big deal. Dont forget to order straps.

Reviewer: Scott M., Monday, July 23, 2007 - View all my reviews
I like the single sided knife because as a either a second knife or a knife that will be in a location other than on your leg, it is easily reached for safety purposes. The single sided advantage offers less risk of cutting yourself, especially if your not a very experienced diver. The serrated cutting side is best for cutting through lines or rope that could become a safety issue. The addition of the metal protruding out the end of the handle for tapping (tank or other), is also more of a safety advantage. For the cost, its well worth the money for me. Scott

This knife is sharp & strong. That being said it requires a good amount of after dive care, it has rust spots the minute you exit the water. I also found that the knife slip easily from the scabbard therefore making it prone to loss. Consider where you mount it very carefully.

My only concern is that it is not stainless and I do not know it will last in salt water exposure. Time will tell.

I purchased several of these knives due to the discounted rate. I have not completed a dive with the knives yet, but I am concerned about the plastic piece on the knife, which makes contact and keeps the knife in the sheath. The plastic piece should be raised more, to allow the knife to stay in the sheath better. Just moving the equipment around, allowed the knife to come out of the sheath. If the plastic piece was raised more, it would still be able to come out of the sheath with ease, yet keep it secured until needed. Thank you

This knife was so much more than I imagined. The price is what fooled me! I bought them all for groomsmen gifts for my wedding and they where an amazing gift and also I wish I would have gotten one for myself. If you are a diver and looking for a simple knife or wanting to buy someone a gift, perfect!

The knife is easy to remove from the scabbard, yet it is held in securely. The blade came from the manufacturer with a keen edge thus saving me the trouble to sharpen it. The size is perfect for strapping to my leg during kayaking or swimming.

I dont usually dive with a knife but I was going somewhere in Indonesia where there had been a saltwater crock attack and I wanted to have a poker. The knife is very rusty after one week.

Ive had and lost a few knives. Attach a hand lanyard at the end. Price is right. Just like all of your gear, keep it clean/sharp and it should remain functional and last quite a while.

Nice knife, small enough to attach to your BC but big enough to actually be able to use easily. Great knife.

Great knife, no need for a sword under water. This will take care of business when needed and is easy to find a home on your BC.

Knife was received promptly, thank you. However, the knife developed rust spots almost before we got out of the water. I was very dissappointed in this quality. Please advertise the grade of SS(304/420) in your advertisements. Thank you.

Fortunately did not need to use it underwater. fit nicely into bc pocket. Gets rust spots very quickly in salt water. Good knife for the price but you have to clean asap.

My first knife . Read the reviews on how it will rust if you dont wipe and clean it righ away after a dive.I used the silicone spray to protect it before my first salt water dive in Acapulco. Forgot to wipe and clean it. Next day when I checked it it had more coral growing on it than i had seen on my dives.Live and learn ,Its all fun.

Rating: Solid, reliable, BC knife.
Reviewer: Bryan E., Saturday, March 17, 2007
I recently ordered the black, blunt, nosed BC knife with the locking scabbard. I chose the blade with the edge designed for cutting as opposed to stabbing, because my experience has been that the need to slash is greater than to stab. Upon receiving the knife I immediately took some extra nylon rope and tested the easy with which it cut through the nylon braids. I found that it satisfactorily cut the rope in the to four slashes. I have found discarded fishing lines and nets in dives before, and feel that I could quickly cut myself out of those if I were to get entangled. Overall, a good purchase. My one complaint would be that the scabbard be a little more robust.

Small and useful tool that secures to the BC. A single locking system seems like it will work well.

This is a great knife for someone who doesnt want to waste a fortune on titanium toys. Its cheap, keeps an edge well, and its relatively sharp for a stainless blade. Better yet, youre out less than twenty bucks if you lose it. This is a surprisingly solid, well-made knife- I got mine for kitesurfing, where getting free of lines in a hurry can be a life-and-death thing. Good grip.

I dont like clutter while diving.I like to keep streamline and this keeps the knife close at hand and tight to your chest so it doesnt cause drag.I like it alot and would reccomend it to everyone who wants to bring along a useful tool and still stay streamline Jim Wilson Bonaire NA

Over the past 15 years I have tried different knives, titanium, steel alloy, etc. I have found that no matter how much you spend on a knife, they have one thing in common, which is, they are all equally easy to lose during a dive. Therefore, I have found that this knife does the job well, the tang extends through the handle and above all else, if you lose it, well, it is only $20 to replace versus $70. This is good value for money, dependable and is DIR compliant.
