i am not your typical buyer, i would think. i am 60, not bad looking and had lost some weight but i knew that a regular bathing suit wouldnt look that good. things have sagged and such. so i bought this suit with the idea that it would give me some warmth and also allow a fairly ok figure to look its best. it is long sleeved and long legged and zipps up the front and is light weight. it dries quickly and sand just s off it in no time. it had its first outing in hawaii with my husband. i think i turned a few heads as most everyone else was nearly naked. and i think i looked good. and i was toasty and comfortable and had good movement. so, i say it is a good little suit. wore it today on a california beach. no sun burn to worry about. i like it!

The Lycra skin has been a gift to the diving industry for well over a decade. In tropical destinations, this arrow in the suit quiver is invaluable. You can wear it all day wet or dry and it will shield you from the sun and provide a barrier between you and the water. It has no warmth factor by itself, but allows a cold water suit to glide on like warm butter. It also adds about 3 degrees of warmth to a thicker suit when worn as a base layer. Ive used mine for windsurfing, sailing, waterskiing, snorkeling and diving. This is a must for divers that want the edge whether just slipping into a thicker suit or enjoying the unlimited warmth of the tropics.

I like the dive skin just fine, however, I am a short round woman who wears petite clothes and I had to order a 2x size to accomodate my girth. It is too long in the arms and legs, but the fabric can be pulled up, so as the dive skin is right now, it is ok. However, if you were to make them in a short, regular and tall size, that would have been better for me. Also, a little more color choice would also have been nice, a red trim would have appealed to me. Now, remember, you asked for this review. I bought this suit to wear as protection from the harsh Las Vegas sun.
I swim laps in a outdoor pool and it gives good protection. I can tell when I
compare my hands and feet with my arms and legs. The mostly black area gives the best protection. The yellow decorative stripe along the arms and across the shoulders is less protective. I can tell by the darker stripe I have in that area.
Ive had the suit for about six weeks now and it shows no sign of unraveling or fading. I rinse it in the sink after each use and it quickly drips dry. I
Im looking forward to taking it on my next dive trip.

I used the Henderson lycra suit for snorkeling for two days in Hawaii. The suit was easy to pack, rinse, and dry. I used a ziplock bag to stow with my other gear. It gave me protection from inadvertant contact with coral and other nasties. The biggest benefit was protection from the sun. My proof of this was the sunburn I sustained on the crown of my head since my hair is thin there. Yep, it peeled. But I had no burn on my back or the backs of my legs. Scuba.com has a great price on this suit.

My adult daughter and I purchased the Henderson Lycra suit and both were very satisfied with the weight and sizing of the suit. It was perfect for snorkeling in the lukewarm/tad cool ocean waters off the coast of Maui (Wailea Beach). Only suggestion would be to consider making them in other colors beside black. A manta ray came quite close to me and I wondered if he thought I was a fellow manta ray! Thank you for your speedy shipping, great customer service on the phone, and the suits. Sue and Dana

This suit is just what I needed in the warm waters of the Texas coast in the summer. I spend a lot of time in the surf with a metal detector and if I dont cover arms and legs I usually pay by being stung by jelly fish or just plain sunburn. The ordering from Scuba.com was easy and painless and package came within a couple of days. It was a refreshing experience to deal with someone who obviously puts customer satisfaction high on their priority list.

This skin is wonderful! It saved me from the worries of a sunburn yet was not hot to wear even in the Florida Keys! I wore this skin on several occasions while out trapping lobster and never experienced any discomfort nor had to concern myself with getting sunburned even on one day when we were out from 9 a.m. until about 5 p.m.. I would highly recommend this superior quality product.

excellent suit, soft material was very comfortable and the fit was perfect, quality zipper closures ensured easy on/off this suit has been used for long swim workouts, in addition to snorkeling and shallow reef dives in warm water, if you are looking for a durable comfortable suit for warm water or pool swims this is ideal likewise, this suit as worn underneath a regular 7mm wetsuit, it greatly aided the donning of the wetsuit, and added addtional warmth

I bought 3 suits in the SMALL size for my son to use while diving. We just returned from a 2 week trip to Bonaire. He found the suits comfortable, form fitting and enjoyed using them alone without a wet suit. The material stretched well and the zipper worked every time. Caring for this suit is very easy. It dries fairly quickly which is a bonus for multiple dives. I can recommend it without reservation. Marty Feldman

Nice dive skin. Fits well and as advertised. Easy to get on and off. Is comfortable to wear for long periods. Foot straps and thumb straps keep legs and sleeves down while putting on your wet suit. Seems to be pretty tough and abrasion resistant when worn by itself for warm water dives/snorkles.
Only problem is the Henderson labels peeled off after a few uses. Not a functional problem, only a cosmetic one.

This was my first Scuba.com purchase. I am very impressed with the service I received. Thanks to the "pro" on the telephone, my suit is the perfect size. The colour is exactly as pictured and the suit gives me the protection I am looking for. Too bad the "Henderson" logo is not just screen printed on the suit! but that is such a minor detail! Great suit and a great price....

Really great product-thick,stretchy,comfy,flattering. Customer service is excellent. They stand behind their goods. Price was right, and I shopped around. I am 59" and thin, and the small was a bit too short in my LONG torso, but would have fit otherwise. They kindly and quickly exchanged it for a Med.(it fit) which arrived in time for my trip.

This suit was perfect for me...not as thick as some of the other skins. I was diving in Polynesia so the water was warm & it provided just enough insulation to make the stay under very comfortable. I plan to use it CA too when I dont want the bulk of a wetsuit while surfing or boogie boarding.
The yellow & black color combination on it is very fetching too.

At first I was leary of this products quality because of its low cost, but after purchasing and using this product I can highly recommend it. It is a comfortable, durable and great looking garment. After 11 boat dives and 6 shore dives in Bonaire and repeated rinsing and drying it shows absolutely no sign of wear and tear.

The suit works really well in protecting one from the sun and dries easily when wet. It makes putting on a wetsuit quick and easy. One must be very careful however, because lycra and velcro do not get along well at all. It is easy to damage the lycra suit when putting on the wetsuit as the velcro neck closure of the wetsuit can rip the lycra.

I always worry about fit when ordering things online. These ran true to the size chart. This suit fit perfect. It has a nice weight to it. We live in Texas and it gets really hot on the boat but the lake where he dives can be chilly at certian depths and he layers it with his shorty and then he can leave it on after to protect from the sun.

I had never tried a lightweight lycra suit for snorkeling, but prior to a recent trip to St. Lucia I purchased the Henderson Lycra suit. It fit me perfectly, was easy to get on and off, folds up easily for storage in my snorkeling bag, didnt smother me in the humid climate and keep the jelly fish from stinging. I couldnt be happier.

My local dive shop does not carry Henderson, so I tried the band he carried, but was total unsatisfied. The seems did not last long before they started to split. For my next lycra I went to scuba.com and got a Henderson. It costs a bit more than the others but it lasts much longer. It fits any body size and looks great!

Should have bought this years ago.It is very comfortable.Makes getting into and out of wet suit a breeze.Offers protection from scrapes and sun also.Only have 11 dives in it but it still looks like new and Im not easy on things.I got socks too but my wife swiped them and she loved them.Have to buy another pair!

I do water aerobics several days a week. My natural body temperature is between 95.4 and 96.8 so two water degrees makes a big difference to me. I bought this suit to make a difference even though the water experts told me it would not help. Well, it DOES. I love it and dont freeze now in 83 degree water.

This dive skin was wonderful. Lightweight and comfortable, it keeps you slightly warm and sunburn-free while snorkeling for hours. It also protects from jellyfish and scraped knees and elbows in the shallows. I wore it under a shorty wetsuit on long outings and by itself for shorter ones. Highly recommend!

Fit like a glove. Very comfortable and not a bad price either. Helps when sliding into a wetsuit too, not as much tugging. The thumb straps and ankle straps help to keep it well positioned so nothing is out of place. My 9 year old thought it looked like I was wearing a leotard though!

As a new diver, I really liked the fact that this suit fit exactly as described. I was able to rinse this skin with mild environmentally friendly soap and it would dry during the 90 minute break for lunch. We were in Roatan, Honduras

This suit fit well, and was true to the sizing chart. It is perfect for dives where youd rather be in a swimsuit and t-shirt, but still want some manner of protection. I dont think it will help with a sting or serious scrape, for minor scrapes, it should be useful.

Anyone who wears a wetsuit NEEDS A SKIN!!! It makes putting on a wetsuit (including a 7mm) as easy as pulling on a pair of pants. I cant believe I ever went diving without one. The Henderson logo peeled off the first time I used it, but the suit itself is fine.

I ordered the lycra suit recently for our snorkeling trip to the Cayman Islands. It was perfect for me..I could stay in the water twice as long as I had in the past.The suit dries very quickly and packs small..Cant wait to go and use it again!

Good fit and zipper works easily. I wear it when snorkling as well as diving. Good protection against minor coral scrapes and the invisible stinging cells we encountered in Mexico. Works well under my shorty wetsuit.

The Lycra suit makes putting on your wet suit so much easyer, mostly after its wet, it allows your wet-wet suit to slip on with out sticking to you, only set back...make my love handles stick out :-)

So far I love this lycra suit, but I havent actually worn it in the water yet. We got them for our trip to Palau which is coming up this fall.

This suit fits and feels very good. The front zip works well and is easy to get in and out of. Would recommend it as a purchase to anyone.

This suit was perfect, it was just warm enough for warm water dives and snorkeling,it dryed fast and I did like the zipper in the front.
