I bought this hood to dive in Trashfest, which is the annual clean up of the Comal River in New Braunfels, Texas. The water is about 73°F year round, which is cold to me. The hood kept me head warm and my dive group won the most cans and bottles category. My only complaint with this hood is that despite the vent in the top air accumulated in the top after awhile and gave me a cone head. I just used my hand to squeeze it out every once and a while. This might not happen on deeper dive. The deepest I got during the one time that I’ve use it was 17 feet.

It seems everyone who has these loves them, but I will be returning mine tres vite! The stitching around the face is annoying to say the least, it is itchy. I need smooth neoprene at this edge. I am still looking for a good hood, I will probably try the XS next. I bought a small given the sizing chart. It seemed a little tight at the jaw, but if it were a size larger I could see it being too big. It was already not tight fitting at all at the neck. It does seem well made, and the bib lies flat (thats why ive given it two stars.)

First I got the Insta dry in XL to do a dive in the north Pacific (Victoria BC). On a test dive in May with the new gear, I found the Insta dry very constricting and kept pushing mask down, making it hard to equallize. I ordered the Hyperstretch the next day. In BC, I used both in 48degree water. Found the heat loss difference minimal to none, but the comfort difference extreme. Bye bye insta dry. The hyperstretch feels almost as if nothing at all, but kept my huge melon warm, thats all I ask for!

With the exception of dry suits, I have used quite a number of rental hoods, loaners, and owne four or five hoods myself (as both a scuba diver and surfer). Without doubt, the Henderson Hyperstretch hood is the most comfortable hood on the market. I have the 5mm model, and my wife has the 7mm model, and despite being much thicker than our 1mm and 3mm regular neoprene ones, they are much easier to get on and off. All the comfort, and you still have the added warmth of 5 or 7 mm of insulation.

Hendersons Hyperstretch Titanium Hood fits exceptionally well, allows good freedom of movement, and is vented for sufficient but non-excessive flow. I ordered the 7/5 mm for extra warmth on an impending deep dive, and was quite satisfied with its performance. The hood and Hendersons hyperstretch gloves kept me toasty in the two areas I usually feel a chill. Also, scuba.com got the items to me quickly, in time for the dive.

I ordered the suit on-line & found the sizing to be right on. The suit is comfortable & warm with almost no hollow spots for cold water to enter onthat first dip. I live in Central Manitoba Canada & have been in the water in early June in this suit & found it toasty warm. The water was cold enough I had to snorkel with my uncovered hands out of the water on my back & the rest of me was great for 1:30 in the water

I used this hood for three dives with moderate success. My intent was to complement a 3mm Henderson suit and keep my head warm. PRO: Well made, stretches well, very comfortable, and well priced. CON: Sometimes allowed air to enter, was not warm as expected. Perhaps the 5mm hood is better.

these hoods fit very well because they are so flexable. they dont smash your ears or chin like some hoods. they are easy to put on and take off. My wife and I both wear them and they make diving in colder water much more enjoyable.

This item performs as advertised. The 5/3 hood was perfect for the 50 degree waters of Monterey. It is like I wasnt wearing a constricting hood at all. I will be purchasing a Henderson hyperstretch wetsuit as soon as I am able.

If you are looking for a very comfortable and easy hood to put on, this is it. The vent for air release on the top works very well, you wont feel like your head is in a vise, and it will keep your noggin warm! Buy one!

I dont like head coverings, in general, and I go bare-headed when most divers are wearing dry suits, but when I have to wear a hood, this is the one for me. It fits well and doesnt constrict at all.

A good, warm hood. After snorkeling for a long time, your neck can get tired from trying to look forward (up) with the hood on. I think all hoods will do this though.
