Rating: Good product
Reviewer: Eric Klauss, Friday, October 13, 2006 - View all my reviews
I bought these just recently in preparation for a 10-day trip to Hawaii where I planned to do some snorkeling and diving. Ive been using 20 year old basic black paddle fins since I got certified in 1982. These took a little getting used to as they are a bit different but for me they seemed to work very well. The highlight of the trip was a night manta ray dive. I really noticed their effectiveness on that dive. We ended up having to head quite a bit farther away from the boat than I guess they normally do to find the mantas and while I was just cruising along, several other people developed leg cramps. Oh...not that it affects their preformance but as a sidebar, I went with the yellow colored fins which turned out to be a good move as it did make it alot easier to spot me in the video we shot during the trip (which I now have on DVD). Another diver noted that the yellow fins did make it alot easier to differentiate me from everyone else while we were on the bottom too, as everyone else was using black or blue fins (mostly rental gear).

Rating: Love them
Reviewer: john s., Tuesday, July 01, 2008
I am a newly-certified diver who is middle aged (54) and have a bad knee that has seen surgery twice. Swimming and diving are two of the few sports I can actually do without putting great strain on my knee. During my certification dives I was using rental equipment that included traditional non-split fins, and I must say, I had second thoughts about the ability of my knee to sustain the strain I felt. On my last open-water dive, my instructors wife let me try her pair of Tusa X-Pert Zooms, and the difference in ease and lack of strain on my knee was instantly apparent. I went out and bought a pair and have now used them on my last four dives. I can say without hesitation, I will never give them up...I Love Them.

Rating: leg pain disappears
Reviewer: JON HALL, Thursday, August 07, 2008
In my diving career, kicking has always been a chore for me. Snorkeling and diving, these fins were more than I hoped for. The first time I entered the water with them (snorkeling), I immediately felt the difference...I didnt feel any stress on my legs. Completing 7 dives and snorkeling everyday over a 9 day period in St. Croix, I never had any pain in my knees or calves, which always was the case with my long blade fins. I found these fins easy to kick, easy to propel with, and easy to manuever with, both on the surface and underwater. I cant say if all split fins are the same, but TUSAs are fantastic. Of course, you cant beat the price at scuba.com either, at least in Indianapolis!

Rating: no back pain, more speed
Reviewer: Douglas W., Monday, March 05, 2007 - View all my reviews
I was surprized at the noticeable difference using these fins. I have a realy bad back and my previous fins would do a job on it. Im not a physicist but some how the split fin design actually is much more efficient that a larger surface area, stiffer fin. The angle on the fin also took strain off the front of my ankles. The only drawback I found, which only applies to long surface swims, is that the angle of the fin causes the blade to break the surface losing some efficiency and causing splashing. For a boat dive they will be perfect though. They look great, feel great and work like a dream. Ill never use my old fins again. Outstanding fin. Thanks...keep diving

Rating: Awesome Fins,
Reviewer: Amber S., Monday, July 07, 2008 - View all my reviews
i am petit around 5 feet and have had issues with fins. i have had problems with them in the past being too bulky to big and often difficult and frustrating to maneuver. these fins are really the answer i was looking for. i just returned from a week of scuba and snorkeling and they worked great for both. i love the speed for once my husband was behind me trying to keep up. i must also mention the strap release is great as well, quick and easy without tearing off your fingernails. and you cant beat scuba.com price i looked in the scuba shop locally and they wanted $189 for the same fins. i rarely give any product a 5 but this one is well worth it.

Rating: Fin Purchase...
Reviewer: Brian Endicott, Friday, March 09, 2007 - View all my reviews
The fins are just fine, basically they are what I expected. I certainly will recommend this site to my dive buddies, in the future. As a high school principal, I do get the chance to network with many agencies involved in sport promotion. I certainly look forward to adding to my personal equipment, through your web site, in the near future. I hope that this helps. Please let me know if I am lucky enough to have won your $100 dollar review credit. Thank you, Yours In Diving. Brian Endicott

Rating: Tusa X-Pert Zoom Split Fins
Reviewer: Paul Piecuch, Friday, August 25, 2006
I purchased a pair of Tusa X-Pert Zoom Split fins in October of 2004. The amount of energy expended per kick was much less than with other split fins for the distance travelled. I lost one of my Tusa fins exiting a shore dive in 3 foot swells. I used my other split fins, but was never as pleased with them as with the Tusa X-Pert Zoom fins. When I saw the Tusas on sale at Scuba.com, I immediately ordered a pair. The Tusa X-Pert is the best of the split fins I have ever owned.

Rating: Smooth Kick, not as responsive
Reviewer: Mark Richardson, Tuesday, September 19, 2006 - View all my reviews
overall these are great fins a definite buy with no post-purchase dissonance. they take a lot less legwork to kick and arent as tiring as traditional fins. this ease of effort comes at the expense of a little less fine control. small adjustments to positioning or that little extra kick to keep from bumping a coral head requires slightly more effort than traditional fins. this is a small price to pay for the other benefits. buyem. there the best fins ive had.

Rating: Excellent Split Fins
Reviewer: Robert Greene, Wednesday, September 26, 2007 - View all my reviews
These fins have exceeded my expectations, even in a mild current. They seem to consistently out perform those other split fins that my dive buddies use. They have excellent control characteristics, and produce excellent thrust with just a simple flutter kick. My air consumption has gone down which results in more bottom time. Good sold construction and they are just barely buoyant in the salt water out here in the central pacific.

Rating: Tusa X-Pert Zoom review - AWESOME.....!!!!
Reviewer: Maria V., Tuesday, June 12, 2007
I was hesitent at first to order my fins online, since I wouldnt be able to try them on for fit, but after reading the reviews I went ahead and ordered them. I just returned from a trip to Aruba where I used them for the first time (5 dives) and I LOVE them....!!! The fit is perfect and they allowed me to swim and manuever with ease. I do recommend the use of booties for a snug fit and comfort against your skin.

Reviewer: Jesse N., Wednesday, June 06, 2007 - View all my reviews
I bought these fins because, well they look really cool, and they match the rest of my gear. My very first dive with them however, I realized I had just made one of the purchases ever. Me and my buddy almost always come up with the same air psi plus or minus a hundred pounds or so. Well My firt dive with these fins I came up 500 pounds more than him, it might not seem like a big deal to you, but it proved it to us!

Reviewer: Ron Bogers, Tuesday, September 19, 2006 - View all my reviews
Even if you are not able to buy all your gear at once...fins, booties, a snorkel and mask are the first things you need to start into diving...so do not skimp on fins...the TUSA X-PERT fins are the best. You will enjoy your dives without the leg fatigue from regular fins. SCUBA.COM also has VERY competitive pricing and great turn around on getting the products to you...excellent service.

Reviewer: David Youngberg, Tuesday, September 26, 2006 - View all my reviews
I bought these for my wife for our last two open water dives to complete our PADI certification. She loved them. They performed as adverised and provided the most comfort and best control of any dive. During our first dive after receiving our c-cards she didnt say anything about the fins until I asked how they were and she said they felt so natural she didnt even think about them.

this is a good fin. very well made. based on other reviews i really expected it to be a lot better in the propulsion department, but i really didnt see much difference. its still a quality product and i would recommend this fin to anyone who likes split fins. i give it four stars. i should add though that it would have to be exceptional to get five -)

These are by far the best fins that I have ever used. I have allowed several of my friends to use them and they either purchased a pair or are planning to purchase a pair in the near future. They really reduce leg fatigue and calf cramps. You able to move through the water with a lot less effort. They have my recommendation. Five stars all the way.

Reviewer: Jonathan Bush, Tuesday, June 26, 2007 - View all my reviews
These just felt like an extension to my feet. Power was not a problem. I havent found a product from Tusa that isnt worth every dollar I spent for it. In addition, the last operator/dive master I chartered with was wearing the same fins with the spring-loaded straps. That spoke volumes to me when he has so many choices at his disposal.

Reviewer: Daniel Roberts, Thursday, March 01, 2007 - View all my reviews
I love these fins!! They fit great and are much faster than any of my freinds fins. Very little effot needed to move at mornal speeds. Only complaint is they are hard to stand in, especailly in shallow water, because they angle down and cause you to lean back, but it helps them work better underwater so I can live with it.

Id order one size bigger though if youre going to be wearing with a cold water boot because they just barely fit with my tusa boots and adjustable straps. Im going to have to swith out the adjustable straps because the ones they sent were a bit too small. Otherwise they are great in the water and a perfect buy!

these fins are over the top. if man evolves to the water these are what will be the end result. comfortable, good fit, plenty of propulsion with a lazy effort, and talk about stylish. you could almost wear these on the "red carpet". if they wear out i already know what to replace them with the same.

These fins have only one weakness. The swivel part of the heel strap can potentially come loose and come off while putting them on. If you happen to be putting them on in cloudy surf, good luck finding it! Excellent speed, handling and looks. Would buy again without hesitation. TUSA Rocks.
