I use this for some extra insulation when diving cold (water temps below 50). I wear a 6.5 farmer johns and shorty, with 7 mil hood, and when its cold throw this on top of that. The extra layering helps and the hooded vest keeps the water from moving down the neck. Being a 1.5 mil, it doesnt require a lot of extra weight to offset the bouyancy.
