| Aeris Atmos AI Air/Nitrox Dive Computer Reviews
Reviewer: Jane Carpenter on 4/10/2008
great versatile dive computer! - this is a great computer: small, light-weight, palm-sized profile but with large easy to read display. i received it fedex the day i left for a dive trip and had to read the manual on the airplane no problem! simple to understand basic functions and menus. i ordered the quick-connect option which is not only handy for downloading to laptop, but also for stashing the computer in a carry-on bag. the downside is that the quick-connect is sold only with the compass i like to dive with my computer tucked in my bc and didnt want the extra bulk of the compass. fortunately our dive shop guy was able to remove the compass fairly easily (dont try it yourself unless you have special tools!) the ergonomic angled design is my favorite feature you can read the display at a glance without any twisting or flipping of the console! the little keeper-ring rotates to slip out of the way. only drawback is the clear plastic guard is easily scratched - try to remember to stow computer in a pocket... | Pinnacle Merino-Evolution Undergarment Reviews
Reviewer: Donald A. Dutcher on 5/16/2008
Merino Evolution - No BS assessment. - THE FACTS: If you dive coldwater and you like to be warm before / during / after the dive, this is the suit for you. The Merino-Evolution is very well made, very comfortable and easy to move in. The merino wool feels great. The neoprene leg and arm cuffs work well at keeping the suit in place under your drysuit. Unless you are cold blooded, 60 degree water is probably the warmest dive you want to take with this suit assuming you are wearing the minimum clothing necessary underneath.
MY OPINION: This was my first purchase of a Pinnacle product and I am sold on them. When you handle this suit, you can feel the quality Pinnacle put into it. If there is a downside to the Merino-Evolution, its that the water has to be freezing to really enjoy what it can do. I say 60 degree water is probably the max because I never felt a chill when I was in the water, but getting geared up, it was about 70ish degrees and I was getting a bit warm. After about 30 mins of diving I came out of... View Full Review

| H2O Tri-View Frameless Mask Reviews
Reviewer: Donald A. Dutcher on 6/30/2008
H2O Tri-View Frameless Mask - No BS Assesssment - THE FACTS: Well made, quality mask. The field of view is outstanding. Mask strap is extra wide in the back. Looks great. MY OPINION: I am 63" and weigh 225 lbs. I ordered the extra large which fits me, but I think my face is not wide enough for this size. When I snorkelled with it on two occassions, the skirt seal broke in the nose area. I repositioned the mask higher on my face so it snugged up under my nose and it seemed to help, but I also had issues with the sides of the skirt folding over towards the front of the mask on a couple of occassions letting water in. THE BOTTOM LINE: The issues I had with this mask are a sizing issue only. Unless you have a larger than normal face, I think the normal size range will be best. This mask has a great field of view and the side windows make it even better, but Im a 3-lens guy. I ordered the black silicone because it wont be brown in a year like clear silicone masks will. It looks cool now and it will still look cool in 10... View Full Review

| Canon WP-DC23 Underwater Housing for SD770IS Reviews
Reviewer: George Toney on 6/28/2008
canon sd770is under water housing - I got the case for a week long dive trip to the Bahams. WOW
I am glad I did. My shots with this camera were so awesome. There were about five other cameras on the boat and my shots were better than those others, which included a Sony in an Ike Lite case, a Sea and Sea with a strob and a Olympus. First this case is small and light compared to all the others. Has a great diffuser that attches well and stays on the camera. The Ike Light case lost its diffuser and the Sea and Sea lost its diffuser we found it and reattched. Full function of the camera under water no setting to forget before putting in the case A ++++. A few times I forgot to match the switch to the houseing, like review to take picture, no problem the case would work just fine.NO LEAKS I put this case to great useage 5 dives a day for a week and looked at my pictures on the boats computer after every dive.So thats opening and closeing that case 50 to 60 time in one week. One piece on advice leave your camera and case... View Full Review

| Underwater Kinetics Hangair Wetsuit/Drysuit Dryer Reviews
Reviewer: Karen H. on 4/10/2008
Wetsuit dryer is amazing! - The Hangair Wetsuit Dryer was a perfect gift for a surfer at a really reasonable price! Totally worth it!
Pros: It completely dries a wetsuit within a half day through a fan installed in the hanger. The cool air blows down through the wetsuit, drying the main body of the wetsuit as well as the legs and arm sleeves. The hanger itself is really nice and bulky and great to use even when the wetsuit is dry, as it provides a wide shoulder area on the hanger so your wetsuit isnt warped/stretched by hanging all the time. The hook on the hanger swivels to allow hanging the wetsuit in a variety of locations.
Cons: There are two drying settings: High and Low. High gets a little loud but I usually just close the bathroom door and its completely fine. Additionally, the high/low/off toggle switch is a bit flimsy - its just a little plastic knob that can easily break off.

| Bare Nex-Gen Pro Drysuit. Reviews
Reviewer: Steve F. on 4/28/2008
Excellent suit for the price - I just purchased this suit last month and have been diving in it about 20 times already and it is great. No leaks, and the T-100 polarwear paired with some underarmour keeps me nice and warm even in 40 degree water. The material this suit is made of is strong and I am confident it will last a long time. It fits perfect, the automatic exhaust valve works great and easy to use. The only thing I wish it had was a pocket or two, but I am planning on buying two bare bellows pockets and gluing them on, so its not a big deal. Overall for the price, you cant go wrong with this suit. This was my first drysuit purchase and I am extremely happy with my decision. When diving in cold water, I am never going back to a wetsuit again! I would recommend this suit to anyone.

| Scuba Mask, Fin & Snorkel Backpack Bag Reviews
Reviewer: William C. on 4/10/2008
The best bag on the market - ok, first let me start off by saying i have never reviewed anything before in my life but this bag was absolutely sensational! every year we vacation in st john to scuba and snorkel and every year i wind up lugging around my mask and fins in a mesh bag. this year i bought the scuba.com bag and i could not be happier. it fits everything mask, snorkel, large mens fins and my teenage daughters fins and mask (or a regulator in the bottom below the fins). there is agreat zip-up bag on the front big enough for a shirt, knife, compass, snacks, etc. and a smaller pocket higher up on the bag for a wallet and a cell phone. the daisey chain on the pack also allows for carrying a large beach towel (or wet clothes bundled up).
also - this bag is the only one i have seen that has two straps so it carries like a backpack. definitely, definitely, definitely buy this one if you are looking for the best snorkel bag out there!

| Aeris XR2 Air/Nitrox Computer Reviews
Reviewer: Gary Astley on 4/21/2008
Gary from Oklahoma - This is the 1st dive computer I have ever owned, disclosing that I will say I will never dive without one again. The Aeris XR2 performed exelcent, the display was easy to read and buttons were easy to use. The XR2 is larger that I thought it would be and I must say that it is a little bulky, but I did not find that a problem when I was diving. When I purchased the XR2 I read the manual twice and played with the unit twice and felt very confident with it. I dove with the XR2 eight times and it preformed as expected every time. When I returned home I ordered the computer interface and uploaded my dives to my home computer, I would recomend the interface even though it is expensive. The XR2 is a very good dive computer for the price, the only reason I have for 4 stars instead of 5 is that it is a little bulky. I would recommend this dive computer.

| Sealife Reefmaster Mini 6.0 Megapixel Digital Camera Reviews
Reviewer: Everett N. on 4/11/2008
Sea Life Mini - I purchased the camera because I was tired of using the film cameras and I already had several digital cameras that water tight cases were not available for. I did not want to spend a bundle since I do not dive on a regular basis. I am certified but make about 5 to 10 dives a year. I saw the camera and read a lot of reviews by camera experts. I decided to try the camera. I took it with me to Kauai and used it on my dives. It was very easy to use and the pictures came out great. The features such as the SEA setting for underwater made the pictures much better. It even took great pictures when I traveled around the island. I found the camera to be a great value and would not hesitate to buy another. In fact the dive shop where I dive from was going to purchase several to rent out to customers.
Scuba.com was easy to buy from and was very quick to deliver the camera to me. They had an excellent price also.

| Freestyle Hammerhead Watch Reviews
Reviewer: Crystal M. on 4/10/2008
good watch for small wrist - I bought this watch as a gift for my boyfriend and he truly loves it... as a stylish and great watch. We have dove with it to a depth of about 85 feet without any problems...
the only problem that arose, is that we both have neoprene suits. His wrists are an average size for a man, but once you double over the neoprene cuff, it is impossible for him to wear the watch diving. I was a little sad about this because I think I read an earlier review that was raging about the fact that the watch strap was so long... not long enough, I guess. He still loves the watch and wouldnt let me exchange it as he wears it everyday. My only advise would be to either get a longer watch strap and switch it, or to make sure that you have small wrists. Great deal for the price, just a little small with neoprene cuffs. Would still recommend it though. :D

| Apollo Bio Pro XT Adjustable Strap Fins Reviews
Reviewer: Gary Ault on 4/25/2008
Excellent Fins - I purchased my Apollo Bio Pro XT fins just prior to a dive trip to Utila. I found them to require an adjustment in my kick style to obtain full advantage of their design. Using a short flutter kick, I easily out distanced the dive group without any additional effort. They are fast and powerful as advertised. The stainless spring strap is wonderful and I will never go back to adjustible fin straps. Spend the money! I noticed it takes a couple of kicks to re-position when hanging over an object and trying to get another angle to get closer look. Current presented no problem for these fins and playing with the surge was fun.
I have always been somewhat of an "air hog" (6 225 lbs)and found that my safe bottom time increased over previous similar dives. I would credit this to less expended effort as compared with my Mares Fins. I have recommended these fins for my wife. We are both Advanced open water, Nitrox certified, with about 50 dives. Buy the fins!!!

| Sherwood Wisdom 2 Air/Nitrox Integrated Dive Computer Reviews
Reviewer: James Tuszka on 4/14/2008
Sherwood Wisdom 2 - The Sherwood Wisdom 2 is my fourth diving computer. I find it easy to use with large numbers (good for older eyes!) and all readouts are labeled on the display. The air integration is almost a must for deeper dives...once you use it you wont want to be without it. The quick release is nice, you can remove the computer from your reg and program/review/download info without having to deal with all of the hoses. The night lite function is bright and stays on long enough so you dont have to rush through the displays. The download program is cumbersome to use and does not have a friendly interface. It does work, however, and is nice to have. The audio alert is too quiet to be heard underwater. A very nice dive computer for air or nitrox dives. I would recommend it to a friend.

| XS Scuba Safety Sausage (SMB) Reviews
Reviewer: Mary Salaja on 5/12/2008
safety sausage - As a 6 safety sausage it is easy to inflate and very visible in high seas. However, the wind can blow it over, making it hard to stay upright. I attached one of my spare weights to it to hold it down in the water. This allowed the inflated tube to stay upright without me holding it. I also wanted to get at it quickly, so I rolled it up and put a velcro strap around it. The velcro is permanently attached to my BC pocket. The sausage is now easy to unroll in the water and the weight fits in the bag that comes with it. All was attached to my BC with the sturdy harden plastic clip. I am satisfied with the product. I may attach a dive emblem on it, some time in the future. The tube takes the writing of a sharpie pen. So I put my name on it, just in case I am in a situation where it is off and gets mixed with the gear of others. Mary S

| Oceanic Dive Downloader - USB Reviews
Reviewer: David Winters on 4/10/2008
Oceanic Dive Downloader Cable and log software - If you have the computer, get the cable and software. Purchased after my first major dive trip (Bonaire). Lots of Dives to download at once. The intructions were good enough to download and install the software with no surprise. The Dive Log software is easy to use and it is neat to review the time/depth track. The Software allows diver to record typical entries from the log book with places for notes and attachments. Automatically (re)numbers Dives by Date and start time. Download and manual entries were equally easy to perform.

| Submersible Systems Spare Air Pack Reviews
Reviewer: Carl McIntire on 4/16/2008
Spare Air - the ultimate in self rescue - Im a diver in Senegal, West Africa. I often dive with local fishermen who are untrained and do not know how to be a "good buddy." My wife bought the Submersible Systems Spare Air bottle for me as a Valentines gift, knowing that it would give me an extra margin of safety on my dives.
The unit is easy to fill and easy to use. I removed the regulator/cap before taking it onto the plane in my checked luggage. I also included a note in the bag with it explaining what it was. I had no problems at any of the international airports.
Ive made about a dozen dives with the Spare Air in the last two months. I have not needed it yet, but just knowing its there gives me wonderful peace of mind.

| Sealife Ecoshot 6.0 Megapixel Digital Camera Reviews
Reviewer: Frankie H. on 4/10/2008
Great camera for the price! - I bought this little camera just before a trip to Hawaii last month. I own 5 professional quality cameras and work as a photographer, but this was my first underwater camera. I wasnt sure what to expect from such an inexpensive underwater digital, but I assure you I was happily surprised. I went on a shark cage dive off the North shore of Hawaii, and my shark photos are excellent. The photos are clear and high quality (6 megapixels). What surprised me most, however, was the great shots it took out of the water. I have found myslef a great little traveling camera for all those places where I never felt comfortable taking my big digitals for fear of sand and salt water. Get this camera, you wont be sorry...oh, its easy to use and the video mode does great, too!

| Innovative Deluxe Snorkel Vest with Crotch Strap And Whistle Reviews
Reviewer: Joe Pearson on 4/11/2008
Very Functional - We decided to get a flotation vest for safety when snorkeling in "less-familiar" waters. After un-nerving experiences in rough waters and swift currents, the vests have proven to be very easy to use and have provided the level of comfort we we seeking. They stay out of the way in use and are easily accessed when needed. Two puffs of air and they are inflated so we can relax on the surface. A twist of the valve and a squeeze and were diving again. The high visibility colors and the storm whistle round out this vest as a the perfect safety gear. I highly recommend these vests.

| Pinnacle 7/5mm Cruiser Titanium Jumpsuit Reviews
Reviewer: tristan Maass on 6/22/2008
fits like a glove - I bought this wetsuit for cold diving in the West/ Northwest coast.
When I first received this wetsuit and tried it on I had a feeling it wouldnt fit, but it just did. I jumped into my apartment pool and it gave just enough. In other words the sizing chart works great. Ill be honest in saying that I havent tested it in cold water yet but it seemed to let very little water in when I tried it in the pool. The merino wool really seems to help with the insulation. It does itch a little bit though, mainly when you are out of the water. If you are really irritated by wool you might want to consider another suit. The 10mm pad in the back is nice for extra insulation and the ankle zippers make donning and removal of the wetsuit a little easier. I have mentioned it to some scuba divers and they have told me that pinnacle is a good brand. This far I am happy with my purchase

| XS Scuba 7mm Pyrostretch Jumpsuit Reviews
Reviewer: David Russell on 5/26/2008
Like a 7mm second skin - Spectacular suit for the money. Combined with a 7mm hooded vest worn underneath I dove 42 degree water just north of Seattle with buddies in dry suits (2 dives) and was not only comfortable, but surprisingly warm.
The second dive took a few seconds to get comfy after re-donning the upper part of the suit but once under water I was fine. The inner liner makes it relatively easy to slip on, even when wet. Even following the sizing chart the first suit was a little snug so I called and ordered the next largest size. The company service rep was great and I had the new suit in a few days. As with any wet suit a good fit is critical.
The stretchiness of the Prostretch feature makes it feel like a 7mm second skin. Noticeably stretchier than a regular wet suit.
Without question the best wet suit Ive ever worn.

| ONeill 3mm Heavy Duty Drysuit Boots Reviews
Reviewer: Alfonso B. on 4/15/2008
ONeill 3mm Heavy Duty Drysuit Boots - The ONeill drysuit boots is a very durable and comfortable boot. Putting on and taking off the boot is fairy easy especially with the velcro straps. The only concern I have is with the 3mm inner liner. I would feel more comfortable if there was no inner liner. I use the ONeill 3mm Specialist Drysuit with this boot which basically makes it a 6mm sock which can make for a pretty tight fit in the boot. Drainage just out of the water is also fair again due to the 3mm inner liner. If you are thinking about getting this boot I suggest doing a fin fit also since the thick sole may lead to getting XL or XXL fins. I switch to the power fins to accomodate for the larger "footprint."

| Ideations Dive Alert Plus Reviews
Reviewer: Richard Todd on 4/10/2008
Wow! It is loud! - Works great both in the surface and under water. It is super loud and impossible to miss. The unit is large and bulky however and it does make the low pressure inflator quite a handfull. Also the button is recessed and difficult to operate with thick mitts or gloves. If your B.C. is an airtrim model, you will have to disconnect it from the B.C. at the surface in order to hold it up out of the water for surface signalling. The other option would be to run it off a dedicated hose. This would add a hose but reduce the clutter at the low pressure inflator.
