Diving in the cold Pacific Ocean of the Southern California is not enjoyable when youre cold. I bought this extra vest just for this reason. Mind you that it doesnt help during the winter season, but it doesnt hurt to have it on as long as you stay shallow. In all other seasons, its not necessary unless you go deeper than the thermocline or dive at night. This is a great buy for the price, and it helps keep my hood in place by tucking it under. Very useful.

Rating: Front Zip Vest for Warmth

I just returned from a diving trip in Indonesia and began using the front zip vest after the first few days of diving. Worn under a 3mm wet suit, it added just enough warmth to enable me to stay down comfortably for 60+ minutes. The vest fit me well and it also fit under the wet suit without feeling bulky. I tend to get cold toward the end of a dive, especially on a multidive day, and the vest helped me stay warm. Ill definitely take it with me on my next trip.

The web page was easy to use and ordering from there was simple as well. When reviewing the sizes, however, it only mentioned weight and bust size. I followed that in order to get the right size which said it would have been an XL. When I got it the size was actually at 10-12. The wet suit I just purchased was a 14. So I had to send it back as it was to small. The return was just as simple as the ordering. I was impressed with the way the entire transaction was handled and would certainly deal with Scuba.com in the future.

I bought this vest to give me another layer under my 3mm on that 3rd, 4th or 5th dive of the day. It worked great to keep me warm when I have been underwater continuously all day. At times I wore it over my skin for the first dive and then layered it with a wetsuit later in the day. Just what I needed! Fits tight for less water intrusion.

I looked a long time for a pair of body glove shorts separate from the top, but mostly I found one piece suits. Of the tops, most of them had high necklines and were pullover the head types(which I cant stand). This vest was priced reasonably and fit great. It also looked great with the shorts. Renae.

The front zip is a big plus. The vest really adds to the core warmth especially after 2 0r 3 dives in a row.
It could be a little longer in the waist, I 62" and it isnt quite long enough even though I bought their largest size.

great product! i love my body glove vest. i bought one 13 years ago and used it for snorkeling all over the caribbean. it keeps me warm and safe. the zipper on my old one finally gave out and i was using safety pins to hold it together not pretty :( however, when i initially placed my order, i ordered an xs. the sizing on the scuba.com website does not coincide with the sizing for body glove. i ended up with a small when probaby i should have gotten a medium. i am 53 and weigh 105 lbs, if that helps. so be wary of the sizing charts.

My wife wore this a few times after diving in Cozumel all week. The front zip made it very easy for her to get in an out of, and the fit was good. She normally gets cold on the second dive of the day, but she had no complaints after adding the core warmer. Well made product from Body Glove, a good buy.

I wear this several times a week for lap swimming. Our pool manaer has reduced winter temp to save money. The vest provides the right anount of warmth while allowing flexibility. The shoulder straps are slightly loose, possibly because my shoulders are too big for my waist.. This is not a problem for routine swimming. Recommended

Just got back from Maui in December and as we all know the water can be cool. Wore the Body Glove vest on several occasions snorkeling and boarding. It kept me warm and happy. Another bonus: didit have to worry about the harmful rays. The heavy duty zipper works great.

This vest is the only one available for bigger guys. I use it for SUPing and to have a front zip is the best. Hard to find.

I bought this as a replacement for the same Body Glove vest, which I had been wearing for at least 10 years (the neoprene was getting compressed from many, many hours underwater). When I shopped for a new one, I looked at other brands, but couldnt beat the pricing, styling, and fit of the Body Glove (who needs fancy gold linings for a zip-front vest?). Its easy on, easy off, dries quickly, and it keeps me warm without the hassle or buoyancy of a full wetsuit. Its also well designed to fit a womans figure. I wear it as a layering piece, under a polar fleece or polypro suit - or its great over a Lycra skin. For some extra warmth on those hour plus tropical dives, this vest is simply.... perfect.

This vest is what I have been looking for! It adds just the extra amount of warmth one needs when the temperature is not quite perfect! The vest itself is almost perfect! It is also perfect all by itself for snorkeling in the winter! And very, very easy to wear!
The only reason that it is not a five star review is that the size is a bit off. Not every woman has a Scarlett OHara waist and a bust the size of watermelons. The proportions can be more in line with a normal womans size! I weigh only 110 lb and I have a well proportioned body. I am not complaining because I am fat!
Even so, I would get it again!
