By definition Snorkeling is swimming with fins, mask and snorkel with your face in the water and still being able to breathe. Snorkeling can be a relaxing and frequently less expensive alternative to scuba that allows the snorkeler to experience some of what the scuba diver sees while remaining comfortably on the surface. It is often how scuba divers are first introduced to the sport as they swim across the surface, seeing all colorful life and building inside the snorkeler the desire to experience and interact with what they see more closely. For other people snorkeling is the limits of their comfort level in the water and the highlight of their experience. They engage in their adventure with the same level of excitement and wonder that the scuba diver does when embarking on a much more expensive scuba diving trip.
