Hey, all! I'm dropping a line here to see if anyone would be game to help support my project Hey! Did you miss that fish?! - it's a project in collaboration with the Channel Islands National Park Service. They've got an amazing 30 year data set where they've gone out every summer and counted all of organisms living in kelp forests around the Channel Islands. Very cool stuff! But to make this data useful, they need one last piece of information - they need to know how much variation in the data is due to, say, different divers doing the counts over 30 years, or the problems associated with going out and counting things in heavy surge or low viz.

Anyway, as someone who works with this data, I'm trying to help them out with my crowdfunding campaign to get enough cash to make two more trips out and collect this key data.

I thought it was a project y'all might be broadly interested in - and if you are, please, feel free to forward this around to other folk. Every bit counts! And, hey, for certain donations, I'll be sending out pictures, or will even come and give a lecture on the research. So take a look, and feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.
