Hi, my name is Mike and I am from NY. I got into diving about 1 year ago - although I am now just eggting certfied after a bad deal with a YMCA instructor last May 2001. Soon after beginning my OW 1 course last year, I got hooked up with 2 DIR-ers in Seattle, WA area. Both soon showed me some merits of DIR and why it is a better (and safer) way to dive. I'm open for discussions on it, ideas, gear tips and techniques, etc. I'm not so narrow-minded that I won't dicuss rigs with OMS, Dive Rite, Abysmal, etc. gear.

I dive Halycon 45# Pioneer wings, Abysmal SS backplate, single AL80 tank, Genesis SPG, Scubapro Jet fins, OMS tech mask, Scubapro Shotgun 2 snorkel (when needed, US Divers 6.5mm 2 piece suit, Scubapro .5mm 1-piece suit when only light gear is needed, AquaLung Titan primary and Mares Axis backup reg, Suunto wrist compass...and soon to add either an OMS Bottom Timer or Uwatech computer.
