I certified in 1978 or so in Oklahoma and dived for a few years afterwards, until about 1981 or so. How can I access records showing my certification so I can take refresher courses? Any help or contact info would be great!

It would help to know what agencie you were certified with. Most agencies can be accessed on the web. There is usually a form to be filled out and mailed in. When you recieve your replacement c-card [ there will be a fee ] you can then take a refresher and be back in the fun.

If you can get your hands on the May 2003 issue of "Dive Training", there's an article that may help you out contacting your agency for a replacement card.

It was with PADI if memory serves but I couldn't find a site with a way to access records. Of course, that was so long ago they may not have it on computerized database. Is there also a NADO or something like that certification? The shop I certified with was called "Gene's Dive Shop" on Lake Tenkiller here in OK but it has changed has at least once since that time.

Could you mean NAUI?

Look for replacement card forms if you go to the web sites. However, since it was so long ago, the agency will probably not have you in their computer data base. If you can remember things like when you were certified, your address when certified, and your instructor's name it should help them find you.

Im in the same situation with my C Card as this topic other than ive never stopped diving.I hold a Advanced Open Water with PADI a certification date od 8/23/74.My Pic on the card is almost 30 years old and I dont have a problem getting air in my home town.Im retired and will be staying in south florida this winter and wonder if I will have a problem there because of the old Pic on the c Card.

I was certified at Gene's Aqua Pro also but in 1994. They were NASDS at that time but are now SSI because of the merger.
