where is the best place to dive from the beach in cozumel.

la ceiba hotel. There is a broken up airplane
in about 35 foot of water 75 yards from the bank. Also try the national park.

La Ceiba is a great hotel, however doen't waste your time on the plane. The local dive shop at La Ceiba is Del Mar, and they are fairly good. I prefer Dive with Martin. Whoever takes you out doen't miss Columbia Shallows, I dove it on 7-23-2000 and saw a six foot eel, three nurse sharks (between four to six foot) and more sea turtles than you can shake a stick at. I dove Cedar Pass a few times, on the last trip I saw a school of six dolphins. Please do not waste a trip to Cozumel doing shore dives.

Cozumel is awesome! Don't miss the Palencar reef (i think I misspelled that). The San Francisco reef is great too. Hell, if you stick with the Casa Del Mar dive shop, you will go to some very good reefs. I saw the moray eel too, and some big grouper. Don't forget to party in town at night!
