I wear swim trunks and its just fine how ever i just got a pair of bike short (long spandex shorts)
and let me tell you how much i really like them.
they don't bunch up, they make sliping into my
wetsuit easier, and they dry very fast.

i wear a two piece farmerjohn and the shoulder straps are starting to bother me,(some little piece of the velcro keeps poking and skrcthing me.) so i am thinking of getting my self a rash guard. you know the kind you use for surfing.

If the suit is nylon material in the inside a lycra suit will make it easier to put on. A smooth rubber suit on the inside (Henderson Gold Core or Tilos Platinum Glideskin) does not work as well with a lycra and is better with as much bare skin as possible using a wet/dry slide lotion.

If you dont need any more thermal protection, wear a lycra skin. They are very thin and it makes a wet, wetsuit slip right on. It also act's as anti friction. What I mean by this is, as you move around it lets your wet suit slide a little. The neo doesnt stick to you. If you are doing s drills or valve drills it is more comfortabls.

Lycra shorts work great. Kind of like the bicycling shorts and far from speedo.

Performance diver has them. I think around $20

The more Lycra you wear the easier the suit will slip on.

i just wear my bikini under my wetsuit. Hahaha how can you wear nothing underneath lol where doyou guys live I want to see! lol Yea so i think bathing suits are fine.

I finally managed to get my new dive skin wet this weekend, along with a new pair of speedos. Top marks for both items. OK, I am a little shy about wriggling out of a damp wetsuit with just a towel wrapped around me (DiverD's suggestion). The dive skin helped with the down the spine blast of cold water I could sometimes experience, and taking the wet suit off afterwards was 100% easier. The speedos didn't bunch up like regular swim trunks. Good investment for cold water diving.

Those dive shorts look great, I'll have to try them. For a long time I wore replicas of WWII UDT swimmers shorts that you could get through Brigade Quartermaster (www.actiongear.com) but they don't seem to make them any more, and they're cotton, so they don't last super long. They're great while they do besause they are short and bodyhugging without being immodest like a speedo. I miss them. Under my shorty I just wear swimming shorts, but under my long suit I wear a lycra skin, problem solved. I've also gotten a good procedure or putting on a suit, esp. if I don't wear a skin. Grab the crotch inside the suit and push the top of the suit inside out down to the crotch. Get into the suit, adjust your shorts, and roll the top of the suit up your body condom-style. No bunching. Man, I wanna go diving with the girls who wear nothing under their wetsuits!
