i purchased two of these for a snorkeling trip to hawaii so we didnt have to leave our car keys, billfold w/identification, etc. on the beach. i did purchase a heavier duty carabiner like some other reviews suggested and tried them out ahead of time, just to be sure, and then used them extensively, even diving down to explore the coral and fish. not a of water got in anything. im planning on taking them anywhere i go on the water, even if i dont plan on getting wet. they are a great peace of mind.
