compared to rubber hoses, these hoses are lighter, stronger, more flexible and they look cool. the standard scuba hose is simply a thick rubber hose that is used for scuba. these are hoses that are designed from the ground up with diving in mind. again, i would say its time for the standard scuba hose to be, well, hosed and replaced with the in-every-way-superior miflex.

For my first pair of fins, I bought the Mares Raptors. I used them for about 20 dives and never really liked them. I wondered if the issues I was having (lack of control, inability to fight currents, and feeling like I had to kick in a very specific way in order to move) could be due to the split-fin design. I did some research and found that a number of people had the same issues I did with splits. After some further research I found that, amongst paddle/blade fins, the quattros were highly regarded so I decided to purchase them. These fins are great! They are light (or at least light compared to the raptors) extremely comfortable, provide good power, look cool, have a great buckling system, allow for many different styles of kicking and feel very precise. Im a picky, critical indivudual, but I have nothing negative to say about these fins. Buy em!
