i got this MIFLEX regulator hose for its supposed longevity. as a part of my regulator system, it performs adequately and the same as the conventional one it replaced, which is what i expected. there are two things worthy of note: 1. the day glow yellow color which i chose is extremely visible and that was commented on by my dive buddies. 2. the hose is very slick. i think that helps prevent external wear. it is so slippery, however, that the hose slips thru the clip which i use to fasten it on my bcd. i had the old hose fastened so that the regulator was on my right shoulder and close to my mouth. now, the regulator end of the MIFLEX slips from my shoulder all the way down below my waist, still threaded thru the clip at my shoulder. a trade-off i suppose. it seems that only a smaller diameter or traction material coated clip will solve this problem.

light and flexible. one less thick stiff hose and a little less weight are improvements on the whole bcd/regulator package. installation the same as any HP hose.

i got the Octo Holder because of the way it attaches rather than the break away feature and use it to hold my instrument panel. the loop end fits thru small openings in the instrument panel better than a clip does and the length can be adjusted by looping it or tying a knot. the partial metal clip is more sturdy than some plastic ones that i have had which snapped off. during one dive my HP hose snagged and the Octo Holder broke away and i didnt get hung up. that was nice - the less complications during a dive, the better.
