Trident Reel.
Rating: birds nest reel 7/17/2009

both I and a dive buddy had this reel, it bird nests quite easily, you have to be real careful both reeling it out and back in lest the line float into a blob, fortunately we really did not need it on the dive and I would be reluctant to rely upon its working.

excellent instrument, large visible numbers, assent, o2, nitrogen loading graphics are helpful, vibration in more noticeable than an alarm especially when wearing a hood, I feel the vibes even through my 7mm wetsuit. Easy to read when hanging on a line for a safety stop. Good investment.

PADI Rescue Manual
Rating: I really dont want to practice rescue diving 3/31/2009

It is important to know how, hopefully helping to avoid having to, rescue. I bought the book as I will be taking a rescue diving course in Quepos Costa Rica and didnt want to spend time reading there, just diving and surfing. Being able to buy the PADI books in advance is a great help to learning, and to diving.

PADI Rescue Manual
Rating: Diving San Juan del Sur Nicaragua 1/25/2009

I bought this for my recent dive trip to Nicaragua. perfect tight fit, stretches well, easy to put on in a rocking boat, but you may need help from your dive buddy to get it zipped. (As I was between MT and L, I went for the MT for the tighter fit) Surface water temperatures were 75 F, ok for surfing in rashie and shorts, but bottom temperatures were 65F - 70F and a bit cold, also good protection against scrapes against reefs and rocks as there was a good deal of underwater surge to deal with. Very glad I had this and it packs quite small, important as I travel only with carry on luggage. I also used it for snorkeling and open ocean swimming, it stretches easy enough for surfing as well.
