Scuba Gear Reviews by Peter van den Broek
XS Scuba ´´V´´ Weight Pouch
Rating:
Flexible solution for variation in balast requirement 3/25/2009
I use both wet and drysuits in salt and fresh water, forcing me to adapt my weight regularly. With the V weight pouch, I can do this without too much problems. I mount the pouch between my cylinders of my twintank and not in the groove of my backplate. The shot weight is retained securely inside by the effective double velcro closure. I have no trim or balance issues using this device and prefer it to V and tail-weights. Was this review helpful? Yes No
XS Scuba Universal Spring Fin Straps
Rating:
XS scuba Spring straps with lots of nicely thought-out details 3/25/2009
Mounting them on my new OMS slipstream was extremely easy. They fit virtually all fins because the hardware for, pin mounting (Jetfin), small (Atomic) and large studds (Scubapro, Mares) come as standard. These springstraps work nicely in combination with my OMSs and facilitate donning my fins especially when wearing a heavy twin tank, restricting drysuit and thick undersuit. They secure my fins on my drysuitboots and allow the use of all alternative finstrokes. The large tab makes doffing the fins a breeze even when wearing drygloves. A great product! XS Scuba Universal Spring Fin Straps
Rating:
OMS Slipstream XXL are a better fit than their Scubapro counterpart 3/25/2009
I have been using these fins for about 30 dives and am able to use al the alternative finstrokes. Their fit is exactly between the Scubapro XL and the XXLs, which is what the docter ordered. Slightly stiffer and significantly lighter than what many people consider the reference. Judging from their pristine surface, I suspect them to last forever. Was this review helpful? Yes No
