The Alpha 8 Octopus regulator serves my deep and cold water diving needs well. Thus far, there have been no problems with free flows and the regulator delivers air comfortably at recreational depths over 100 feet. I would recommend this regulator without hesitation.

I am using the Delta 4/FDX 10 for cold water use in Lake Superior and local quarries. Recently conducted a 102 foot dive in 48 degree water. The regulator functioned well and there was no hint of free-flow. I would recommend this regulator without reservation.

Overall, I like the Sherwood Avid BC. I am using it for cold water diving in Lake Superior and midwest quarries over a 7mm wet suit. The only problem encountered thus far relates to the dual tank straps. These have to be positioned carefully and tightened firmly to prevent the tank from moving excessively from side-to-side. Attention to this matter has corrected the problem, but could present a challenge to a diver without the required arm strength.
