Scuba Gear Reviews by Richard Cavanaugh

Rating: Hotbelt Wetsuit Heater Mares 6.5mm Isotherm Semi Dry 7/21/2007

Very well made. Neck seal is 100% water tight. Only a very small amount of water enters ankle and wrist seals as the air flows out of the suit. Back zipper is impossible to use solo. You must have someone zip you and unzip you.

Hotsuits Hotbelt Wetsuit Heater
Rating: Hotsuits-Hotbelt-Wetsuit-Heater Wetsuit Heater 6/25/2007

The heater is difficult to activate while wearing a wetsuit, BCD, Tank etc.... The instructions say to wear on your back over kidneys. I dont think I would be able to push the button while wearing gear. I wore the heater on my stomach. Still difficult to activate. However, once it was activated, I could feel the heat for about 20 to 30 minutes. The heater is still somewhat warm past that point, but it is not "hot" I feel it is good for the third or fourth dive of the day where you may get a chill at the end. It is not practical to use on every dive as the heater must be boiled for 15 minutes to reactivate.
