I was like 8 feet above my buddy shaking the crap out of that thing and I could barely hear it. You could make your own for far less than $17.

Maybe its me but I felt like the hood was way too tight around my neck. Though, since this my first hood maybe they are all that way.

The Sherwood Avid BC is an excellent choice. It has a nice fit, appearance, and plenty of clips and large pockets.
