Scuba Gear Reviews by Brooke Adams
AERIS INSTRUMENT RETRACTOR
Rating:
Camera Life Line 9/19/2006
Used this retractor to keep my new dive camera from floating away (which is what my last one did). Worked great, smooth extension and retraction. Flat, compact design....when empty, you wouldnt know its there. No complaints. Was this review helpful? Yes No

Test Case 9/19/2006
the camera worked fine above and below the water. however, although the manual instructs the owner to test the watertight case for an hour, i would recommend actually taking it on your first dive. but leave the camera top-side. this way, youll know if the case is going to work or fail at depth. thats what happened to mine. my last pic was taken at a depth of 53, only 16 above my lowest depth for my first dive of the trip. i was able to swap out the card and the pix that i did get turned out really great considering it was my first attempt with this camera. some color corrections needed to be done, as well. for someone needing reading glasses, the viewing window is a bit small, though. i would also recommend practicing using the buttons on the case before diving....youll become familiar quicker. in addition, it will loosen up the buttons as well mine were a bit stiff out of the box.
