Rating: Akonas 1mm wetsuit 09/20/2006

If your into warm water diving the Akona by Sherwood 1mm wetsuit offers a light shield of warmth and comfortable fit. I recently used this particular suit in the Florida Springs where the water is a constant 72 degrees in the grottos. I optimistically dove in without any skins and was impressed that the suit actually retained enough of a heat barrier to keep me comfortable in the deep crevices. The suit offers a nice fit around your wrist, ankles, and neck. A protective laminated knee pad and an easy back zipper for easy donning. For a 1 mm warm water suit it stands up well compared to other manufacturers and the cost savings is rate it 4 stars.

Rating: Tank Carrier 09/19/2006

The Scuba tank carrier is one of the most innovated tank straps available. Not only does it assist in carrying the tank but it relieves the stress and sometime pain aching task of gripping the valve to carry the tank to a filling station to be refilled while at the dive site. Or perhaps just loading it the vehicle. Some of the advantages to having one is that it can be left donned on your tank and if you stategically position the carrier it wont interfere with you BC straps. With the stainless steel d-rings it makes cinching down to any size tank quick and easy. The formes rubber handle will give comfort for those divers with weakened grips. As far as the price its very affordable for the web nylon type material. The only negative would be the excess strap available after cinching. Maybe the manufacturer could add velcro but tucking under the straps works just as well. It not only attracts alot of onlookers but gets my five stars.
