Scuba Gear Reviews by Thomas Horowitz

Scubamax 5-Page Wrist Dive Slate
Rating: Scubamax-5-Page-Wrist-Dive-Slate Less of a Xmas tree look. 01/11/2007

Most slates hang (like so much other gear) from a diver like ornaments from a Xmas tree. This is on the wrist and mostly stays out of the way. The pencil is only fair, but otherwise works well.

Scubamax 5-Page Wrist Dive Slate
Rating: Scubamax-5-Page-Wrist-Dive-Slate One big bag. 09/19/2006

A large bag with fine design. Knife, small items close at hand. Main compartment with more room than you can use. The only problem is water drag. When it is not full you need to put a bunge around it to compact it. Buckles do not mate with other companies.

H2O Snorkel Keeper Silicone
Rating: H2O-Snorkel-Keeper-Silicone Good idea but no cigar. 09/18/2006

Nics size, but hooks let it drift to far from the body, adds too much drag.

Finally something to keep from chaffing in warm water. Just the thing to keep from getting raw heals.

XS Scuba 2mm Low-Top Titanium Dive Socks
Rating: XS-Scuba-2mm-Low-Top-Titanium-Dive-Socks UDT Duck feet their not. 09/09/2006

I like my old USD prof./Duck feet fins. But they are aged and needed to be replaced. I have tried several full foot fins and so far these are among the best. They are much lighter to travel with, and for the price can not be beat.

XS Scuba 2mm Low-Top Titanium Dive Socks
Rating: XS-Scuba-2mm-Low-Top-Titanium-Dive-Socks New snorkel 09/09/2006

Having started diving 40 years ago, I learned with and most always used "j" tubes. I tried newer ones, most were harder, not easier to clear. This one however is a bit easier and is dry post blow.
