The kit arrived and had all the necessary pieces and parts for installation when needed. Due to the power usage of the computer (about 50 dives), I intend to change the battery after each week-long dive trip just to be sure.

We purchased two of the Aeris XR-1 wrist computers because they seemed to be a match for our needs. As intermediate divers with no particular desire to upgrade to Enriched Air diving in the near future, the price was the real clincher, at about $20 more than it cost to rent a computer for a week of diving. We are happy with the computers, they are easy to use and well-documented. We look forward to using them for some real diving in the near future.

I found the PADI Open Water DVD to be valuable, not only for the course, but as a review tool after a layoff from diving for a few months. Its easier than reading the book, but has all of the necessary information to bring one up to date on procedures and safety issues.
