Reviewer: Peter WeberInstallation of knife sheath on BCD - The knife is very light. The grip makes it easy to hold securely and easy to draw from the sheath. 4 very small #4 machine screws and 4 plastic washers are supplied for attachment of the plastic sheath around a hose or for mounting on the BCD strap. Installation on my Cressi BCD required use of an awl and then flat head pliers to hold each screw aligned. I substituted stainless steel washers. Once you figure how to proceed the installation goes faster. And yes, I did manage to lose one screw (local hardware stores do not carry screws this small) but was able to scrounge a replacement from an old piece of equipment. The knife handle has an opening in the top corner. Its easy to...View Full Review
Reviewer: Keith T.Promate Titanium Folding BC Knife Review - $29.95 - Scuba Gear Customer Reviews - I was certified in 1971, received my instructor rating in 1973, worked as a commercial underwater fisherman, helped develop extreme exposure deep water drift diving in Hawaii and later went on to a successful career as an underwater film and video cameraman for clients including National Geographic. I have done underwater salvage, dived in caves, wrecks, absolute zero visibility, strong currents, brutal surge and extreme depth on air. When I first started diving I bought a "Rambo" knife but soon learned how unnecessary and bulky most dive knives are. So most of the time I didnt carry one. On occasions when I needed a knife to cut lines or free marine life from nets I would take my...View Full Review
Reviewer: Rae K.Great dive knife in a nice holster. - This is our third knife, bought it for the tanto blade style. We have the blunt and the sharp tip styles of this same knife as well for over 15 years now and they are as good as new. The only problem is with the holster: the screws oxidized over time and disintegrated, and the tiny screws are #2 and hard to find. A bit of marine epoxy worked like a charm though. The knife is nicely weighted and the handle is very comfortable to hold, used it to cut some fishing lines left on the reef and to cull a couple of lion fish. Metal blunt tip on the handle is a bonus tank banger if needed. Would highly recommend this knife in any of the three blade styles.
Reviewer: David F Piela SrXS Scuba Stryker Knife Review - Scuba Gear Reviews - I already own this knife and needed another for a different bcd. The knife came promptly and in new condition but the blade knife edge wasnt properly sharpened and dull. I pulled out my stones and put a nice quality edge to it and it is fine! I love the blunt edge design and the design of the blade, grips and hilt are perfect for working underwater.
Reviewer: Michael M.love the knife , hate the handle & the straps - Have just used the knife on a live a aboard for a week. The knife held up well, but the handle cap rusted on the 1st dive out. By the end of the week about 1/3rd of the cap is now rusted. They need to coat the cap so it will not rust with something. The straps are difficult to use. I took the straps from another knife to make it more user friendly which seemed to do the trick. Sorry guys need to be honest
Reviewer: Phillip C.Deep See Squeeze Lock Titanium Knife Review - Scuba Gear Reviews - I purchased this dive knife primarily because the sheath attaches to my BCD. This makes it easy in the extreme to carry the knife and immediately accessible should I need it. I like this configuration much better than strapping a larger knife to my leg.
Reviewer: Monica S.Scuba BC Knife Review - $13.95 - Scuba Gear Customer Reviews - Very handy little knife, I use it as a "Kill Knife". Since Im just starting to spearfish, I havent mastered kill shots yet so as I bring my fish up to my kayak which I dive with,...the knife hangs over the side so I can quickly (Grab & Stab), then I toss my fish in a cooler on back. I know my method might sound a little strange but I lost the sheath since it didnt come with straps and this actually works better while im trying to handle a wriggling fighting fish. Im giving it 3 stars cause its cheep , very sharp and nice and handy,...I actually even filleted a Hog Fish with it too! It does rust pretty quickly so maybe Ill upgrade for the next one.
Reviewer: Mike S.Great little dive knife - This knife is compact but does the job. Its sharp, compact and ready to travel with you. This is not a professional dive knife but will work for the recreational diver to cut fishing line and some types of rope underwater. Due to its small size, make sure you know exactly where you placed it for your dives. If you wear 5mm gloves this knife will be tough to hold onto and operate effectively.
Reviewer: mark b.Very good knife - I already had one of these that I use it for digging fossils out of the Potomac and thought I could use a new one for general diving. The blunt tip works fine for me. I like the way it is held securely in the scabbard but is easily released.
Reviewer: DANIEL LEONEXS Scuba Fogcutter X(Large) Recon Knife Review - Scuba Gear Reviews - I liked my small frog cutter in chrome so much that I had to get the Large Recon cutter in black. Wife is going to kill me when she sees that I have two. Im just going to tell her one is for her. ;)
Reviewer: Ken H.Right Balance - This is the best knife I have owned in 30 some years of diving. It is overall well made, comes apart for drying and rust proofing, has good cutting edges, and unlocks from the sheath easily. It is also a good size: large and stout enough to be a useful tool for solving problems, yet not so large as to be in the way. I use this knife for drysuit wreck diving. (I use a smaller BC knife for tropical diving.) An extra benefit are the hook connection straps that provide easy attachment of knife to leg. Only negative was the dullness of the straight edge blade as delivered. Using a carbide sharpener, however, I managed to get a very sharp edge with bit of work.
Reviewer: gary roathFair product - Tool is hard too remove from case. Screws arent adjustable enough to attach to our BCD. Had to use the hose attachment. Need both hands to remove from case.
