Reviewer: Susan HansonIs It More Than You Need? - when i bought this hood, i was thinking "the thicker, the better." not so. while the 5/3mm keeps my head nice and toasty, im not sure i needed quite so much protection. i snorkeling in constant 72-degree water year round, often for several hours at a time. while this doesnt sound cold, in winter its especially good to wear a cap of some kind. for years ive worn a beanie with a strap, but ive wanted to try a diving hood to see if it would keep my head warmer. it does. now for the problems, which are really mine and not the products. because the 5/3mm hood is thick, its hard for me to single-handedly cram into my already tight wetsuit. next, it also makes it tricky to keep my mask where it...View Full Review
Reviewer: SUSIE PETERSENSuper-stretch - This is the most stretchable hood Ive ever experienced. I was thinking of getting a Med or Large, but took a risk of getting a Small because of their sizing chart. But I have Large hoods that are really difficult to put on so I was very hesitant. Im very glad that I chose a Small because it fits perfect and so easy to put on. I love the liner too. Even if the water wont be cold, or if Im just going to snorkel, I plan on using the liner. No more mask and snorkel getting tangled in my hair. The liner makes the hood even more easy to put on, but when I opened the package, I didnt notice the liner and forgot about it. I tried out the hood, and was very satisfied with the fit. I almost...View Full Review
Reviewer: Christopher G.Good for those who are "light on top". - Got tired of burning my scalp on the surface swims to and from the dive spots. This serves the purpose fine. The only downfall is the lettering has already started to come off, only after a few dives.
Reviewer: Jim P.Henderson 3/2 mm hood - This is exactly what I was looking for. I recently was on a trip scuba diving in the Bonne Terre Mine. I needed the extra warmth of the vest and did not need two hoods. So I cut the hood off. I then went to St. Kitts where I needed a hood, but no vest. Unfortunately, the hood I decapitated from the vest kept creeping up on me causing mask leakage. The Henderson 3/2 mm hood has enough material to tuck under my 3mm suit to keep the hood from creeping up during the dive and I do not experience mask leakage. I love it when a plan comes together. Thank you Scuba.com Jim P
Reviewer: Suzette R.Ocean Quest 2mm Premium Super-Stretch Titanium Dive Beanie Review - Scuba Gear Reviews - i bought ocean quest beanies for my husband and myself. they work greatkeep us a little warmer, keep hair out of the way, and provide welcome sun protection on snorkel days. they actually make it easier to position your mask strap since it doesnt get bunched up in your hair. plus they are very comfortable, you hardly know its on. very nice product!
Reviewer: kevin c.Hooded Vest - To cold here in the Great Lakes State to try the vest out diveing yet, but it should allow me to get in the water sooner for extra warmth. I did try the vest on and it seems to fit comfortably and looks to be a great value for the price compared to the more expensive ones. Looking forward to getting in the water with it soon. Thank you, Scuba.com Kevin Collins
Reviewer: Chris S.Pinnacle 3mm Diving Hood Review - Scuba Gear Reviews - This is a great hood for the money. The cut and fit was as if it was tailor made for me. I know that may not be the case for everyone but it definitely was for me. I mainly use if for diving in water that is around 50 degrees. If the water is any colder I would probably go with a thicker hood.
Reviewer: Randy RamosLycra Diving Hood, your search is over buy this one you wont be disappointed! - I really like this product, Ive purchased other Lycra Hoods but these by far are the best very comfortable to wear and one size does fit all. i use these for myself and I lend them to students as well an active divemaster we hold our Open water classes in the lake and sometimes the fish get a little friendly and decide to take a bite out go your ear, these hoods defiantly stop that. Thank you Randy
Reviewer: richard millerBody Glove 6mm Exo Super-Stretch Diving Hood Review - Scuba Gear Reviews - have not used yet, but fits well and comfortable. others were too tight even at largest size.
Reviewer: Ricky M.Waterproof 5/7mm H1 Hood with Bib Review - Scuba Gear Reviews - I am VERY HAPPY with the WATERPROOF HOOD that i bought . It was BETTER than Advertised !!!!
Reviewer: sherry m.Warmth while Scuba Diving - The XS Scuba 2mm Titanium Beanie was a good choice. The reasons for this buy were to obtain warmth and comfort while diving. The size was perfect and the use was correct. While diving, whether in a thermaclyne or in freshwater springs, it does get cold. Being that you loose most of your body heat through your head, besides your torso, this helped keep your warmth and did not effect the dive in a negative way. I would recommend the Scuba Beanie as an added item to your dive gear, even with a hood attachement to a vest. The beanie is a good choice for gear.
Reviewer: Don BurdetteGreat for extra warmth - Got this for a trip to Hawaii that included a week of live-aboard diving. It was just enough to keep me from getting chilled after five dives a day! Fits great and I never thought about it while diving, once I poked a hole in the top to let out the air that gets trapped in it. It chafed a little under my chin, which is why it only gets 4 stars.
Reviewer: Alex O.Hooded is the way to go! - The integrated hood on this polytherm is excellent for moderate temperature diving along with a 3 mil suit. I used it during a week long diving trip where this time of year I usually use a 5 mil suit. Fit great under my 3 mil and was excellent because it does not add any additional bounce. Used it with my 3 mil and it kept me perfectly warm. I am not a big fan of stand-alone hoods, this was so much easier to get on and off.
Reviewer: Mary McCombieFeels great, runs small - truly warm and really cuts down the water exchange around the neck when worn under your wetsuit. however, the vest runs smalli had to order a full size up, and it was still tight, though appropriately so. perhaps its because the material does not stretch much. but i like the warmth and comfort, not to mention that it does not add any buoyancy to my suit.
Reviewer: Grant MacdonaldSimple but effective - This is a simple product but nonetheless Im very happy with it. I usually only scuba dive but on a recent trip we did some snorkeling and I didnt want to get my scalp sunburned. The hood was great for this and I found it to be a good fit and I didnt notice it when I was in the water. Easy to rinse out and quick to dry and adds nothing to luggage (size and weight). Something I didnt even think of that was an added benefit was that my mask strap didnt pull out any of my hair, I dont have much left :-).
Reviewer: Travis S.Bare 7mm Elastek Super-Stretch Drysuit Hood Review - Scuba Gear Reviews - fits well, does what its supposed to do. good quality.
