Reviewer: Christopher G.Good for those who are "light on top". - Got tired of burning my scalp on the surface swims to and from the dive spots. This serves the purpose fine. The only downfall is the lettering has already started to come off, only after a few dives.
Reviewer: Rick L.Ocean Quest 7/5mm Premium Super-Stretch Titanium Diving Hood Review - Scuba Gear Reviews - Perfect. Fits like a glove without making my head feel squished. Keeps the cold out - head temperature wasnt an issue in 54* water yesterday. Tucks in well under wetsuit. Cant customize the face opening, but really not an issue, just get better and not putting mask over the lips of the hood. Very satisfied.
Reviewer: Chris R.Ocean Quest 6oz Premium Lycra Diving Hood Review - Scuba Gear Reviews - I brought this hood for snorkeling in Thailand. Fit was tight (didnt think my head was that big), the fit round the mask ran under the mask if care was not taken and the back rode up. However I was able to tuck the back under the lycra suit and result was no sunburn.
Reviewer: sherry m.Warmth while Scuba Diving - The XS Scuba 2mm Titanium Beanie was a good choice. The reasons for this buy were to obtain warmth and comfort while diving. The size was perfect and the use was correct. While diving, whether in a thermaclyne or in freshwater springs, it does get cold. Being that you loose most of your body heat through your head, besides your torso, this helped keep your warmth and did not effect the dive in a negative way. I would recommend the Scuba Beanie as an added item to your dive gear, even with a hood attachement to a vest. The beanie is a good choice for gear.
Reviewer: Audrey R.Fit is off but better than wearing a full hood - This works good but the chin strap is way too long for me, so I flip it inside out so the excess strap stays tucked away. My friend got one too and it fits her fine. Getting a smaller size doesnt make much of a difference with the chin strap.
Reviewer: Don BurdetteGreat for extra warmth - Got this for a trip to Hawaii that included a week of live-aboard diving. It was just enough to keep me from getting chilled after five dives a day! Fits great and I never thought about it while diving, once I poked a hole in the top to let out the air that gets trapped in it. It chafed a little under my chin, which is why it only gets 4 stars.
Reviewer: Alex O.Hooded is the way to go! - The integrated hood on this polytherm is excellent for moderate temperature diving along with a 3 mil suit. I used it during a week long diving trip where this time of year I usually use a 5 mil suit. Fit great under my 3 mil and was excellent because it does not add any additional bounce. Used it with my 3 mil and it kept me perfectly warm. I am not a big fan of stand-alone hoods, this was so much easier to get on and off.
Reviewer: Mary McCombieFeels great, runs small - truly warm and really cuts down the water exchange around the neck when worn under your wetsuit. however, the vest runs smalli had to order a full size up, and it was still tight, though appropriately so. perhaps its because the material does not stretch much. but i like the warmth and comfort, not to mention that it does not add any buoyancy to my suit.
Reviewer: Grant MacdonaldSimple but effective - This is a simple product but nonetheless Im very happy with it. I usually only scuba dive but on a recent trip we did some snorkeling and I didnt want to get my scalp sunburned. The hood was great for this and I found it to be a good fit and I didnt notice it when I was in the water. Easy to rinse out and quick to dry and adds nothing to luggage (size and weight). Something I didnt even think of that was an added benefit was that my mask strap didnt pull out any of my hair, I dont have much left :-).
Reviewer: Travis S.Bare 7mm Elastek Super-Stretch Drysuit Hood Review - Scuba Gear Reviews - fits well, does what its supposed to do. good quality.
Reviewer: Craig A.superseding hood by bare - Have bought other Bare products, all have been quality. This hood is no exception. Super stretchy is right so its very comfortable. Also very easy to pull on and take off.
Reviewer: Michael L.Warm and well made - Just got back from 3 days of diving 48 degree water and this hood kept my head nice and warm. Easy on and off and with no zipper it lets less water in. Very comfortable and air bubbles vent out nicely.
Reviewer: eric f.Ocean Quest 5/3mm Premium Super-Stretch Titanium Diving Hood Review - Scuba Gear Reviews - Nothing fancy but good enough to get by. As rec diver it meets its purpose, used it on first night dive ever and was pleased with the results and the price.
Reviewer: Armand T. OrsolinoXS Scuba 6mm Titanium Diving Hood Review - $29.95 - Scuba Gear Customer Reviews - Before when Im diving without the hood I couldnt reach the bottom deeper than 25ft. and my both ears always sucked water, but when started using this product I wonder I could go to 40ft and my ears arent sucking water anymore, now I believe this thing isnt just a protector to your head but a deep blue dive enhancer as well. Thanks so much we got product like this one.
