Reviewer: Scott MichaelOne great upgrade...2 small steps back - i bought a sherwood avid cqr 2 in july 2009 and have used it almost exclusively since. i did replace those silly cam tank straps with "scubapro" style fully opening tank straps and jury rigged a crotch strap but thats just personal preference. it is still in great shape, but i recently lost 70 lbs and my xxxl bc no longer fits. i did not even give it a second thought when i ordered an xl avid bc with the new cqr 3 upgrade. the only really serious design problem with the cqr 2 was the difficulty in reing the weight pockets back into the bc. the cqr 3 has a redesign that puts the locking clips up front in a separate pocket where they are much easier to reattach. the new bc itself is just...View Full Review
Reviewer: Michael H.Axiom i3 BC is a winner! - I rarely give 5 stars to a product, at least until Ive put it through its paces. But this BC is the best Ive used in 10+ years of diving. Ive had countless rentals and owned 2 BCs (one heavy, cold water, and one light for travel). First, the fit is really good. I was able to go to Scuba.coms shop and try it on first. It seems bulky at the weight pouches at firs, but once youre suited up and especially in the water, the BC doesnt get in the way at all. Comfortable on the back and shoulders. The weight pouches are easy to load, clip in and unclip. The tank strap takes a bit getting used to, but once its set to a tank, it is easy to get on and off and very secure. The small strap...View Full Review
Reviewer: Gary ThuillierGreat BC for the price - I had ordered this BCD from a photo of what was apparently last years model (OceanPro 1000) then while waiting for shipment which was backordered I noticed a change in the catalogue. I was quite pleased when I received the new QLR4. This is toted as a perfect rental unit which is normally taken as no bells or whistles and typically a cheap product. Not so! It is a heavy duty vest but not so cumbersome and stiff as many of the other more expensive models. I have to say for the first time in my 24 years of diving I have found a BCD with pockets that are actually functional underwater. Ive worn out 4 other vests over the years and on none of them, could you find a way into the pocket during a...View Full Review
Reviewer: Reginald HarperScubaPro Pilot BC - This is a great no frills BC. If youre looking for a easy to use, light, comfortable BC, this is for you! I first used this BC on a dive excursion from a cruise, and so it was a rental...but it was so light and easy to use, I bought this one when I got back home! I have the big "technical" BC, with all the D-Rings and doo-dads on it...but if you just want to get in the water, and really ENJOY your entire dive experience, give the Pilot a try...you wont be disappointed! Remember, the point of diving is to ENJOY the experience...and not be so bogged down with gear and paraphanelia that it keeps you from enjoying it! And, the Pilot has HUGE pockets on it for any "stuff" you want to bring...View Full Review
Reviewer: James K MelrodMares Prestige 2 MRS Plus BC Review - Scuba Gear Reviews - I recently needed to replace my BC and checked out numerous choices before deciding on this. It has all the features I was looking for including some very functional pockets and lots of D rings. It is a 5. It is on the heavy side and pretty bulky. It might be a bit much for travel but for local San Diego diving its perfect.
Reviewer: Tito L.BC silhouette - I have a dive trip shop. All my BC are Silhouette Sherwood, in my 20 years in this buisness the Silhouette BC Sherwood was high to other mark.. Other mark with use diary in more or less one year was your life time. The Silhouette BC Sherwood in one year didn´t lost the color, It´s excellet, confortable and good price.
Reviewer: MAJ Mortrud, AnthonyDragon - I am new to diving and this is the first BCD I have owed. I like the weight system, I have had no issues with the intergrated weight system falling out. I have an extra large fits well in shoulders and chest, But need to adjust cumberbund and waist strap as far in as they can go and still a little loose. I love the metal D rings, and spacious pockets. Overall I am happy with BCD.
Reviewer: Peter Z.Great for the traveling Diver - With the airlines restrictions on the weight of your checked bags every ounce is important. This BCD will help with the weight issue and also with it folding into the include bag you will have additional room. This BCD has large pockets so I can carry all my needed items. The trim weight pockets have helped me with a better profile making me more efficient in the water which has given me better air usage. The integrated weight pockets are outstanding, very secure and still easy to remove when needed. This is my fourth BCD and my second travel BCD, I’m very happy with this purchase along with the service I received from Scuba.com
Reviewer: Donald D.006843 Mares Hybrid Pro Tec BC - This BC is wonderful. Some of the new features for BCs have been included in this. For example the lifting handle and trim eight bags are great. However, I was some what disappointed that my inflator/octopus from my other BCs would not work with Mares BC. I had to purchase a new one by Mares. This inflator is good, but only to their BC.
