The red light is an indication that water has entered the battery housing. 1. Check the battery housing for water. 2. Wipe the inside of the battery housing to remove all moisture. Take special care to wipe away any water between the two screws placed next to the warning light. 3. Close everything up and see if the motor turns on. 4. If the motor turns on, you should be all set to go. I would be careful using any glue around the orange o-ring.
