I am located at an APO address. Ordering was easy. Shipping was fast. Scooter arrived with no problems. I bought this sea scooter for my wife. She loves it. Light for her to carry, pulls her around as quick as my explorer X. Thanks

I initially bought this to use as a dive scooter for my myself, 185lbs, plus dive gear & a dry suit. It turns out to be WAY more fun & useful as a swimming toy for the kids at the surface. While it does drag you along at a snails pace underwater, it does not have the power to submerge an adult (diver or swimmer)like the big boys, super expensive toys at thousands of $ more. It is still handy to use underwater if you have a long kick to a distant sight, slow, but steady. On the surface though, the kids will have a blast! I even opted for a spare battery so the fun lasts even longer!

How long dose the battery need to charge? and is there a cheaper place to get one? i want to get two for me aand my dad when i get my advance open water course done

    Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

The scooter should be charged, the very first time, overnight. After that usually 4-6 hours should fully charge the battery.

  • mike:

What are the dimensions and can it go in checked baggage?

    Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello Mike. yes we do have customers that will take these units on trips with them. The tallest part is 13" (the prop housing). The Length of this unit is 25.5" and the width of the unit is 15" (tip of handle to tip of handle on the other side).

  • Don:

Does the VS Supercharged Plus have enough power to pull an adult at the surface? Would you recommend another product? If so, which one?I dont intend to use the product for scuba diving. Thanks, Don

    Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

    This scooter should work fine.

Good afternoon, I live in Argentina, Neuquen province, and I wonder if I can post a Sea-Doo VS Supercharged Plus Underwater Scooter (DPV), if possible, and the total cost including all expenses, of course thank you very much. -

  • Ian:

Hi, Is this VS supercharged the best choice for power and depth without going almost double the cost for the RS? Is it variable speed, or 2 speeds? It says both in the ad. It mentions lead acid battery, what are the good and bad points of lead acid? Is it complete with battery and charger? Thank you.............Ian

    Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello Ian, unless you are doing TEK Diving, yes the VS would be the best bang for your buck. Yes this would come with the battery and charger.

  • Nick:

    How much can this pull?

    Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello Nick your looking at around 300lbs.

  • Wayne:

Accidently forgot to close the battery compartment before diving in the sea. Unit flooded of course but have been unable to get it functioning since. Is there anyone to whom I can send it to rectify it?

    Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello Wayne, you would need to send the unit in for service. If you go to: That will take you to all of the contact information and the address of where you would need to sent the unit in for repair.

  • Cary:

I weigh 200 lbs and do shore diving and boat diving. Other than going to the mega expensive other models, would you recommend this one as the best choice of the lower priced models? I live in the Cayman Islands and am worried about service after the sale should I have problems. I plan on buying it, having it shipped to Tampa and trying it out upon my visit before lugging it back to my rock. Its just a lot of money to spend... Anything you can say to relieve tensions?

    Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Concerns such as this are better directed to the instructors at this has been a very good model for SeaDoo and should work for you very well. Be sure to follow and adhere to the directions regarding the battery for optimum battery life.

  • Cary:

Does this machine come with a free bag to carry it in? How come it says free shipping but when i check out it tries to add shipping? Also, I weigh 200lbs and plan on using this two to three times a week. Some times for snorkel, some times for scuba. Salt water obviously. Wouls you recommend this one? What did you mean by "We are offering the redesigned one, unlike other sites that are sending the old ones?" Lastly, I live in the Cayman Islands and want to know how Sea Doo handles international warranty issues. IS their service good? As I assume I wont be dealing with you if it breaks...

    Arthur  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello, no the scooter doesn''t come with a bag and the free shipping is only for the continental US. We also only sell the newest models. Sea doo is really good about their warranties the only drawback for you would be the shipping it back for the warranty.

  • lynn:

    Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello Lynn, the measurements on the VS scooter is 24" in height and at the widest part of the scooter is 12" (the rear tail section)

  • Tera:

My husband wants a scooter for his birthday. He may use it for diving, however, the primary use will be at the beach trolling along the 1st and 2nd sand bars. My husband is 65" and 220 lbs. which model is recommended for large men?

    Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello Tera, the scooter I would suggest for you is the:

  • Billy:

We are PADI certified divers in Australia and would like to know what Seadoo would be best for diving in sea water. We are looking at either the VS supercharged plus or the GTI. Our weight range is 70 - 80kg. Require it to dive to no more than 30M and usually between 12 & 20M. Hope this is enough information.

    Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello Billy, both of these scooters you are asking about have a depth rating to 100 feet. The GTI would go 2.5mph where the VS would go 3.0mph. If a wide range of people are using this scooter I would suggest going with the VS.
